Joe - The warranty is one year. If the motor fails within the first year because of manufacturer defects, we will replace the motor. You can take the motor to an electrical repair shop if it is outside of one year. The time it takes to recoup the money depends on your kwh cost. This guide will help you calculate the cost to run the motor.

I have a Hayward super pump 1.5 HP single speed. Would like to replace the motor only, no timer, with the same super pump, but with a 2 speed. Will this fit my current pump housing? Any special wiring modification? Special 220 power cord? I have separate 110 & 220 outlets by my pump. Current pump is plugged to 220. Thanks.

Hi Del, I would suggest the 1 HP Full Rate Dual Speed Motor W/ Digital Timer the reason I suggest the 1 HP and not the 1-1/2 HP is because... the Hayward Super Pump uses a 1-1/2 HP uprated motor which would be identical to a 1 HP full rate motor. The dual speed motor referenced above will fit your current housing and you should be able to use your current 220V plug. When replacing your motor I would suggest a Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit. This motor would not need a special timer as it has has a built in digital timer right on the motor.

Hello, I have the common 1 HP Hayward Super Pump, which has been making a high pitch noise for the past few years. This year it was seized up and I had to take it apart. Inside the pump housing a found a colony of ants (and uncles) that had to be evicted. I unfroze the shaft with a state-of-the-art water pump pliers, and it is working, but its still noisy.
I wish to upgrade to a more efficient pump. Will this pump fit my current setup?

Hi Marcos yes this dual speed motor would be a great energy-efficient upgrade to your current motor. I would also suggest a Hayward Tune Up Kit when you do this motor replacement.

This would depend on whether you have a full or uprate model pump, diffuser and impeller. Its wisest to check all of these part numbers to make sure they are compatible with this two speed motor.

Hi, The 1 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer - Round Flange (B975T,B2975T) will work but you will have to change your impeller to the Hayward Impeller (SPX2610C) and you will need a Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit.

Hi Chris, In order to use the 1 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer you would need to get the 1-1/2 H.P. Drive Train Upgrade (SPX2610CKIT) because you have a 1 hp max rated SP1607X10 model pump, the 1 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor (B975T) is a full rated motor so the total HP is 1.4. The impeller for the SP1600 Series is not available so you will need to upgrade to the SP2600 Series.

Hi Rob, You can replace your 3/4hp motor with a 1hp full rate but I would not recommend doing that unless you confirm that you system can handle the additional water flow. Going from a 3/4hp up-rate motor to a 1hp full-rate motor you're doubling the hp. You will also need to replace the impeller diffuser and the seals or you can replace you pump with the PureLine PL2607.

Rob - Actual or Total HP (THP) of a motor is calculated by multiplying its stated HP by it Service Factor (SF). You will be going from a 3/4 HP uprated motor with a THP of 3/4 (3/4 x 1.0 SF) to a 1 HP full rated motor with a THP of 1.4 (1.0 x 1.4 SF). That almost doubles the size of the motor. The impeller in your current pump needs to be replaced with a larger one - spx2610c. The current diffuser will accommodate the larger impeller. You will also want to replace the motor shaft seal and gaskets - GOKIT3.

Looking to replace my Hayward C48K2N143B1 that is currently hooked up 115v. Do I have to use this, or could I get away with the B973T instead which can be hooked up to 115v. Otherwise I'll need to get an electrician out to run a new circuit.

That is going to be the motor. I'll need to know what model pump you have (Super Pump, Super 2, etc) as well as your total resistance, which is the distance in feet from where your pump is to your main drain. This is how I figure out the estimated flow rate of a pump.

Hi Eddie, This B975T is the correct motor that can be used with the SP2610X15 pump. I will also recommend getting the Hayward Super Pump Tune Up Kit GOKIT3 or GOKIT3SALT.

Hello, Gary. The 1 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer - Round Flange (B975T,B2975T) is safe to use with the impeller installed on the SP3010EEAZ pump. I do recommend replacing the Tune-up/GoKit for the Super II pump, when replacing the motor.

Is the appropriate method of shutting down for the winter season simply to cut power to the motor? (I can't seem to find any permanent "Off" or Winter Mode in the controls, so I assume the timer will be attempting to cycle things On/Off each day)

Hello Matt- Here is a great link on How To Winterize Your Swimming Pool. This should answer the majority of your questions. As far as turning off your pump, let me first assume you have a timer on your pump. If you want to completely shut the pump off you can either flip the breaker off or you can turn the timer off and remove the on timer pin. If you want to gradually reduce the run time, you can adjust the timer to reflect shorter run times.

Hi, Tom. Since you're using 115 volts the 2-Green Motor (B973T) along with the SP2607C impeller are the parts that you can use. The variable speed motor is 230 volts only.

Hello Tom, based on your impeller it shows you have a Hayward Max-Flo Parts for your seal kit it would be GOKIT1 and the b975t is hooked for a 230v for 2 speed. Please let us know if this is worked for you, if you are not hooked for 230v then this motor will not work.

The replacement motor for model #K48L2N104 is the Energy Efficient A.O. Smith Round Flange 1 HP Full Rate Motor - CT1102. The only better motor that this one would be a 1.65 HP Variable Speed Pool Pump Motor Round Flange - ECM16CU or a 1 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer - Round Flange (B975T,B2975T). You can always replace the whole pump, but the most cost effective way to go would be to replace the motor and seals.

You can either do a direct replacement with the B228SE, go to a dual speed replacement with the B973T, or go to a variable speed replacement with the ECM16CU. The best energy efficient option is the variable speed motor. With any option you will need the seal kit, part number GOKIT3.

If you would like to get the full strength out of the motor then yes you should replace the impeller to the part number 5110-10DA. But if your filter model can not handle the extra water flow you would be getting since you are technically using a stronger motor then I would not advise to use this model motor and yet use the model B973T which only uses 110 volt.

Hi Roy, The B2982T is the correct replacement motor for your pump. The B982T and B2982T is the same motor, the B2 model is the model that is currently being shipped out and the 2 designates it is the new model which has a few internal upgrades to the motor. We still notate the B2982T motor as people may have that motor on there pool currently and this motor is the replacement for that model #. Normally we estimate that you would see a 40% - 50% operational cost savings by using the dual speed motor vs. a standard single speed motor.

I ordered and received the "1 HP Full Rate Two Speed Motor W/ Timer - Round Flange (B975T, B2975T)" as replacement motor for my Hayward Super II pump. I plan to install it tomorrow but am concerned since my current motor is a 56J style flange and this motor is a 56C and want to ensure this style will bolt up to my pump! Can you verify this for me before I take my pump apart that this will bolt right up to my pump?

Peter, This motor is a 56J frame. A 56C is a keyed shaft and does not have a threaded shaft.

I want to downgrade my current pump. I have a Hayward super 2 pump with a 2 Hp motor. SP3020. My pool is only 10,000 gallons with a 2" connection and 18 ft head. Can i change to the 1 hp two speed and change the impeller. 80 gpm is plenty I think and the current pump is overrated. Original owner got sold this setup. Is this the right idea?

So in order to cross reference the correct seals or the seal kit, you will need to provide the front pump housing model number or name that the motor bolts to. The replacement dual speed motor would be model B983 and you could use one of two switches for the dual speed. One is a manual toggle switch being part number 2512558-001 and the second is a timer part number T106R that you would wire to the main timer assuming that you currently have one.

I purchased a Century 1HP dual speed motor w/timer from you a couple years ago. The motor itself has worked fine but yesterday the timer stopped working altogether and the LCD display is no longer functioning. The motor works fine but the LCD display and/or timer functions can't be read in order to set timer. I wanted to replace either the timer or motor. yet I see on your site that this motor is not available. What do you recommend?
