Part # GOKIT3SALT

Alternate Part #'s ALDGO-KIT3V, APCK1024A, PL1083, SE-KIT-3V, AEQGOKIT3V

Product Description

Tune up kit for the Hayward Super pump when used with a salt chlorine generator.  The heavy duty parts in this kit are designed to withstand exposure to salt.

We highly recommend replacing the shaft seal, o-rings and gaskets when replacing your motor.  If you use your old shaft seal, it will not mate up properly with the new motor and may leak.  Our tune up kits include the shaft seal and all o-rings, gaskets and lubricant for your pump.

This Tune Up Kit Works on These Pumps:

  • All Hayward Super Pumps 1/2 HP - 3 HP single and dual speed models.
  • All Hayward SP2600 Series Pumps
  • Works on both standard efficiency and energy efficient Hayward Super pumps
  • Note: Hayward Super II Pumps use GOKIT2SALT

Tune Up Kit Includes:

  • Motor Shaft Seal For Saltwater Pools
  • Diffuser Gasket
  • Pump Lid O-Ring
  • Housing Gasket
  • Lubricant

What is the difference between the GOKIT3 and the GOKIT3SALT?

The GOKIT3SALT includes the heavy duty viton and carbon shaft seal. The heavy duty seals are designed for salt chlorine generators and ozonators.

What is the difference between the salt kit versus chlorine kit technically speaking ?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/14/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Both Gokits will have the same items, except  the gokit3 has a standard shaft seal made of standard rubber, the gokit3salt has a shaft seal that is made of VITON which will be able to handle the minerals in a salt pool longer.

My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/15/2014 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

My pump model is Hayward SP2605X7 Super Pump. Will this kit work for me?

Hello Jim - The GOKIT3SALT would be the correct kit for the Hayward SP2605X7.

I purchased this kit for the Hayward SuperPump SP2610X15. The spring seal is of a different design than the one that came off the pump. The Original spring seal has a rubber section on the bottom and expands over two "nubs" that are on the impeller shaft, and accommodate a ridge/step at the base. The new one will not fit over the impeller shaft, and has no way to accommodate the step. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello Tom - It sounds like you still have a piece of the old shaft seal on the shaft of the impeller. The metal piece with the two nubs needs to be removed from the impeller. Once that is removed, you will be able to install the new shaft seal.

Pool pump leaking between the motor

Written on 7/25/2022 by Guest

Took the 4 9/16 bolts off pulled the motor off and took the back plate off. Unloosed the capacitor and used a 7/16 wrench to hold the impeller to spin it off. Then all the front Drive train pieces came off. Took the seal off the impeller off and replaced it with the new one

Incorrect gasket kit

Written on 5/2/2020 by Guest

I ordered a Gasket kit via Amazon for my hayward Super pump and two of the gaskets didn't fit. There was no one to really contact about the problem other then return it. I then found INYO Pools and contacted the company.

I immediately found out I needed a different kit for my salt water inground pool. It arrived very quickly, Using the new kit as being able to see their DIY gasket video installation video on youtube I had the motor off gaskets on and motor reassembled in no time!!! Great products and support!

Awesome!

Bad pump motor

Written on 4/12/2020 by Guest

Removed old pump and all gaskets. Lubed new gaskets with silicone that came with the kit. Make sure the graphite side of the shaft seal is going toward the porcelain seal on the other gasket. I made that mistake and it leaked. After turning it around, everything worked perfectly.

Leaking pump seal burned out original Hayward Super pump after just 3 years.

Written on 7/22/2019 by Guest

1. Called local pool company, they said I had to replace the whole EC-65 unit, pump, and motor...about $700.
2. “Googled” Hayward SuperPump replacement motor, recognized “inyopools.com” because I watched a couple of their repair videos and downloaded their pool care guide, as new pool/ homeowner, previously.
3. “Live Chatted” with Keven, even sending him a photo of the information plate on my bad Hayward SuperPump. He immediately replied with a couple links to order both the correct replacement motor and “GOKIT3SALT” item, and also the accompanying videos that demonstrate the DYI replacement.
4. A few days later me and my iPad made the repairs in about 90”! The new A.O.Smith motor is actually quieter than the original SuperPump!
5. Inyopools.com and Kevin put the family back in the pool in less than a week!
6. Superior customer service, WOW!

Replaced motor so also replaced seals as recommended by INYO pool experts

Written on 8/9/2018 by Guest

Replaced Motor and installed seal kit on Heyward pump for 35,000 gal in-ground pool. Since my recent retirement I now have time to do this work myself saving hundreds of $ by not having to hire it done. The videos and directions were thorough and easy to follow. Take it from a first time, novice, impatient DIYer, if you can follow directions, you too can have the satisfaction of successfully repairing your own equipment and keeping your money invested in your 401K.
