I need parts for my filter valve. When I look at the filter parts breakdown, it gives me different choices. How do I know which one is the one I need?

In order to locate the correct parts we will need to know the model number of the filter valve. Two identical filters can have two different valves. Typically the valve model will be located on the label of the valve. If there is no model number on the valve, you can try to see if there are any part numbers on the valve itself. Once you've located you valve model you can check out our >Filter Valve Parts.

My Triton sand filter is 27 years old. Cannot read model #. My valve is a PacFab model with threaded 1 1/2 connections. I have 6 position lever. Centers for the filter are 7 1/2 inches. Would I use a Pentair 1.5 threaded valve #261173 for a replacement? Filter is 24" diameter. Thanks

Hi Don, The 261173 would not be the correct valve. You would need the 7-1/2" Center to Center Valve for the Pac-Fab Triton 261050.

Hi Rick, The 1.5" Threaded Multiport Valve for Sand and D.E or the Pentair Multiport Valve Kit 1 1/2" Generic Threaded (SM1-PP3) would be the correct replacements for your SM10-3 Valve.

I need to know if the top is the inlet to the sand filter and the bottom is the outlet. I already ordered one and the inlet and outlet where reversed .

Hi, Dorsey. The upper left port is the inlet which connects to the pump and the bottom right port is the return.

Hello,
I have a Pentair TR 100 P/N 140210 FLT TR 100 Almond 2010.
There is no MPV valve but someone rigged one. I would like to install the correct model for this unit. I am using 1 1/2 inch piping but the in and output of the sand filter appear to have larger fittings or is that normal. That part is original. Thank you for your support.

I have a Pentair SM-20-2 DE Filter Selector Valve that's leaking. I believe it's a 2005 year model. I can't seem to find a replacement that I'm sure is 100% going to be an exact replacement...

Hi Don, You will require this SM-20-2 Replacement Valve and not the valve listed on this page.

Which replace valve do I need? I have Triton TR-60 sand filter, and Pac Fab SP-710, 6 way valve. The valve is leaking and it is cracked. I am going to replace the valve. Which valve do I need ? 261173 or SM1-PP3 ? What is the difference between these 2 valves? Thank you!

I think the pool was installed in 1980. This may be original valve and filter. Which replacement valve do I need ?
Hi Scott, Thanks for the photos! The valve on this page would be the correct valve for your filter. The valve will connect to your filter however due to the age of your filter it is possible that the plumbing port locations on the valve are not in the exact same spot, which may require some slight re-plumbing.
