Do you think with 16x32 Pool ave depth 4.5 ft that 95 btu is going be big enough

Do you think this 95K btu is large enough to keep our uncovered 14x28 screened in pool with an average depth 4.5 ft at 88 degrees in Tampa, FL from May through October?
Reply
Dick - Raypak's Heat Pump Calculator shows that their 95K BTU heater would be able to maintain your pool at 88 degrees in Tampa from May to October with 1.5-2.5 MPH winds. You should be able to change some of the parameters yourself on this calculator.

I may be way off base here: I want to heat a pool that has never been heated before. Is there something I should consider prior to looking for pumps? I really want to this within a few weeks time.

When deciding what heat pump size to choose for your pool, you will need to determine the surface area of the pool. I also, recommend contacting a Certified Electrician and Certified Pool Technician for any fees involved to have the equipment installed. You will need to check the equipment area to ensure there is enough space for the heat pump and an equipment pad. It is best recommended to purchase a solar blanket or liquid solar blanket, to help prevent heat loss occurred during evaporation. Feel free to follow up with us, using our Support Ticket Email System to provide us more information about your swimming pool dimensions.

Installation of this heat pump was straight forward. I do not recommend installing yourself unless you’re comfortable working with PVC. Definitely leave the electrical work to an electrician.
Once I had the unit positioned on the concrete pad, plumbing the PVC was simple. My electrician showed up shortly after and wired up the unit. Instruction manual is straightforward and easy to comprehend.
I highly recommend this heat pump! It works well and is simple to use.

Pros: Quiet and easy installtion
Cons: It is big - plan accordingly
I just installed this unit last week, and had no problems at all with the installation and start up. It does take a while to heat up the water compared to a gas heater, but hopefully it will be much more economical to run
