I have a Pentair Intelliflo 3 HP VS pump. My pool is small- about 10,000 gals. I know my pump is overkill. What size DE Filer would be most compatible and efficient to use with this pump? 36, 48 or 60??

If you wanted the ability to run the Intelliflo pump at the highest speed which is roughly 3 HP then I would suggest the largest of these filters. On a standard pool set up the Pentair Intelliflo VS will be outputting 120 Gallons Per Minute (GPM) at the high speed, with this being said we would suggest a filter which can handle at least 120 GPM's. Out of the Pentair FNS DE filters you listed we would suggest the Pentair FNS Plus 60 Sq. Ft. Filter which would have a max flow rating of 120 GPM's. You would also need to get the Multiport Valve for the FNS filter which allows you to backwash or clean the filter.

This is the best performing variable speed pump product on the market. It was easy to install, and program, and quiet. My first pump was a Pentair 1 1/2hp, which lasted 7 years. I would have just replace the motor if I could, but the state of Arizona require all pool pumps now to be variable speed pumps. When I found that out and review the options with my pool man , who has been in the business for 15 years, he said Pentair is the best. I checked around for pricing and INYOPools beat the competition. My questions were all answered by the sales people, and because I am in Arizona, they set me up to have my product shipped from the closest wharehouse location, instead of Florida.
