Color Splash 3G’s multi-color features are selectable by turning the existing pool light switch off and on, known as power cycling. The amount of time the light is off during power cycling determines the light feature activated. Color Lock : select a solid color or a color blend. Show Lock : select a light show. Reset : synchronize multiple lights. Memory : store the last “locked” color or show.

A Aqualink link system could control it, but only so far as turning it on and off. It would not have a way of changing the colors other than turning the power on and off.

Hi Kevin, Yes the Color Splash LED 3G Pool Lamp, 120V will replace your current light bulb. It would be a go thing to change the gasket as well that part number is (3550-24)

i have a aqualink system it turns the light on and off if I was to turn on and off the light thru the aqualink would it cycle the colors ?
I believe I have a American light fixture could I replace your bulb color splash 3G without draining the pool

Neil, With your Aqualink System turning the light On/Off will cycle through the colors and light shows. If you have enough cord length to pull the fixture out of the niche and place the fixture on you deck, you will not have to drain the pool.

I am considering the 3G LED bulb to replace the standard white incandescent bulbs in my pool and spa. I have two fixtures in the pool and one in the spa, and the pool lights are controlled separately from the spa light. With that, will the pool and spa lights synchronize if I install the same 3G version in each area?

Hi Dave, The lights which are on the same circuit will synchronize, so the two lights in the pool will be synched together. The spa light will not be synched with the pool lights unless you put all three lights on the same circuit.

Mark, The color splash bulbs will only fit into certain light housing. We will need to know the make and model of you pool light to see if there is an LED replacement.

Hi Mike, Unfortunately this bulb does not fit the Swimquip light and there is currently not a color changing LED bulb that fits the Swimquip light.

Hi John, If you Pentair light uses a screw in style flood lamp then yes this bulb will work. If you Pentair light uses a clip in halogen bulb then this LED bulb would not work.

Andrew, The Color Splash LED 3G Pool Lamp, 120V is compatible with the Hayward Astrolite SP0580 Series Light Fixture, you'll also need to replace the Astrolite Lens Gasket (SPX0580Z2).

Hi Bob, The 3G bulb is the brightest LED bulb. Usually when customers replace the bulb they do not replace the glass lens which can be old, faded which would cause the bulb not to be as bright.

Hi Gary, yes you would be able to use a push style timer to turn the light on and off. By cycling the power on and off through the push button you would advance the light through the various color modes.

I have a Hayward Astrolite whit molded face rim, part # SP0580A1. My pool is vinyl liner in ground Kafko pool. It seems the nich is too small for the colorsplash 3. Is the only option for me to purchase a spa -size light, or does J& J make a slightly smaller diameter version of colorsplash lamp ? It simply will not fit down into the nich.

Hi Mark, The Color Splash LED 3G Pool Lamp, 120V (LPLP1RGB120) will work with your Hayward Astrolite. You will replace the existing bulb with the Color Splash LED 3G Pool Lamp. You would also need to replace the Hayward Astrolite Lens Gasket (SPX0580Z2), but reuse your existing fixture.

Hi James, I heard of customers using X-10 remotes which are normally supplied at an electronics store like Radio Shack. We do not carry these remotes so I would double check with the electronics store to see if this would work for your application.

Yes this Color Splash LED 3G Pool Lamp will fit the Hayward SP582 model and the voltage/wattage is correct. I would recommend replacing the gasket and silicone to add additional protection to your lamp from water damage.
