Do I need a transformer for this light? I currently have a 120V rated fixture
(Hayward AstroLite Pool Light Plastic Face Rim | 500W 120V) with a 500 Watt Bulb which burned out. Looking to replace it with a color bulb. Just want to ensure I can use with current fixture.

The 120V 3G LED Lamp does not require a transformer, This bulb will work with your Astrolite light fixture.

Does the color splash 3G have a remote control? How do you/I control the light colors? Can I just select one color it I want? Thanks

Color Splash 3G’s multi-color features are selectable by turning the existing pool light switch off and on, known as power cycling. The amount of time the light is off during power cycling determines the light feature activated. Color Lock : select a solid color or a color blend. Show Lock : select a light show. Reset : synchronize multiple lights. Memory : store the last “locked” color or show.

When powered off, say overnight on a timer, and then on, does the program cycle starttat the beginning OR return to the last set program?

Charles- When you turn the LPLP1RGB120 Color Splash light, it will stay on the last color that was selected.

Is it possible to control the light color via an aqualink system?

A Aqualink link system could control it, but only so far as turning it on and off. It would not have a way of changing the colors other than turning the power on and off.

We purchased these lamps for our pool and spa instead of having to replace the entire fixtures. It was much more affordable and, with the different light shows, are equally as fun. We recommend this product.

I bought this LED bulb to upgrade my pool light and was disappointed with it. The colors were not every bright and I was unable to select a desired color since this bulb was not compatible with my iAqualink pool automation system.

Cons: Not cheap ! Must be careful to get a good seal on the install.
This pool light is outstanding ! I have a 25'x 60' in ground and installed two of these as replacement bulbs. The light show is amazing and they light up the entire pool. I installed one in my spa as well and then synced them all up - beautiful at night, like a resort !

I just added new tile to my pool and was looking for an LED to replace the 500 Watt pool light. INYO had the best price on this newer model which their customer service advised was worth a little extra. It is a little scary, because if you don't correctly tighten your gasket and it leaks you are out 250 bucks instead of the 35 for a regular lamp. Easy to install, used new gasket and it just screws in the same as a regular light. You can change the program by clicking it off and on in 2 second intervals. I LOVE this light, it adds a lot to my pool at night and is easy on the power bill too. Its true the RED color does not light up the pool as much as the other colors, but I like it...use it for skinny dip night.
