Hi Jeanie, The Locking Knob-CX1750G is the correct one for the C1900 Filter.

I have a C1200 and the threads in the locking are stripping. Will this part work as a replacement?

My initial threads have failed on this Filter Lock Knob and the rod that screws into the bottom unscrews. If I replace this knob, how do I get the rod to stay screwed into the bottom when I remove the lid?

Hi, Joe. You will need to use Thread Lock.

Hello. The Locking Knob threads onto the stainless steel rod that is installed in the bottom half of the filter. The Locking Knob extends through the filter head and when tightened onto the rod forms the seal between the two pieces of the filter body. Attached please find an exploded parts diagram of the Str Clear Plus Cartridge Filter which may assist in visualizing this scenario. Hayward Star Clear Plus
