impeller inside the pump is 2hp

Yes, that 2HP pump is going to have a 2HP impeller. That is how every pump is. If it is a 2HP pump, all the parts on the pump are for a 2HP pump. That is why I was asking easier today why you have a 2HP impeller with a 1HP motor.

I have a Sundance Montego hot tub built in 1997 and the high speed pump has failed. One sticker on the pump says
"Theramax Sundance Spas Model 06020191-1. There is a second label that says Magnetek Century Pool & Spa Motor 1081/1563 Pump duty and BN40 Part 7 -182688-02 HP. Do you have a pump to replace this one?
Thanks,
CB

I need to replace an AO Smith 7-177783-02 pump on a 2001 Sundance Marin. This is pump 2. Is this the best replacement for that pump?

Hello Travis, based on the 7-177783-02 shows it would be a Century 1.5 HP Thru-Bolt 48Y Dual Speed 230V Motor - BN34V1. If you are looking for a new pump and running 115 volts you would use Hi-Flo II Spa Pump - 1.5 HP, 115V, - 342061010.

This looks like a direct replacement for my AO Smith model 7-184384-02. The only difference (as far as I can tell) is the amperage: 11.0/ 3.3 vs 8.4/2.6. Will your pump run hotter as a result of this difference?
Yes this pump will work as a replacement for the motor shown in your photo.
