I have a 24 foot round above ground pool . Will this be adequate to heat this pool. I live in Southern Illinois.
We haven't any dealers here and that is also a concern for warranty and service!

Based on your pool size i would recommend the "raypac 130A" model number 011476 for propane and model number 011472 for natural gas, both heaters are 130000 BTU.

I have a 24' round pool. I am going with a heat pump since gas or propane not an option. I'm thinking of the R4350ti (85k btu) or the 68k btu. Your thoughts?

is the 68000 btu raypak 3350 for above ground pools ? I have a 21 ft round pool in Chicagoland area. 50000 btu or 68000 btu ?

Hi John, for a 21' round above ground pool in Chicago I would suggest the 68,000 BTU Heat Pump.

Better to get 50000 or 60000 BTU for 6000 gal pool

Hello, the 68,000 BTU heat pump will heat the pool faster than the 50,000 BTU unit. The faster the pool heats up, the less it has to run, which translates into energy savings to you. We also recommend using a pool blanket to help retain the heat in the pool when not in use.

I have a 24 foot round above ground pool located in southern New Hampshire what size heat pump unit would be needed, also what size propane heater would work.

Hi, Bill. A 68K BTU unit is sufficient for a 24 ft round pools. For a gas heater, a 250K BTU would increase you pool temperature about 1 degree per hour.

2nd question, would the Raypak R2350ti be able to handle a inground pool 14' x 15' , 3.5 feet deep.
Local area is in Santa Cruz, CA

Hi. The Raypak R2350ti will be able too but it will have to run constantly depending on your desired temperature.

How quickly will the 68,000 increase the temp in an above ground 18' pool located in NE PA where average air temps are low 70s?
Reply
We live in northern NJ. Installed the 68,000 this spring. Compared to my last heat pump which was 50,000, the 68K was much faster. We have 24' round & it maybe took 1&1/2 to 2 days to bring it from 60s temp to mid 80's. I kept the solar cover on. Keith

What is the leaving hot water from the heat pump unit?
is the leaving hot water from a heat pump higher than the leaving hot water form a traditional gas heating equipment?
thx,
Reply
Hi. The top port is the outlet the bottom is the inlet. The temperature of the water leaving a heat pump is lower than a traditional gas heater.

Reply
Hello, We would recommend getting 110k or more Btus for your size pool.

Surface area x temp rise x 12 = BTU req to heat. What is the surface area? Use formula to figure what size heat pump you may want to order.

I have a 8' diamiter inground spa that is 3.5' deep. It is attached to a pool but have no need to heat entire pool. only want spa heated to 100-120 degrees. will the 3450 be able to accomplish?

The Compact Series Heat Pump 62,000 BTU - 016635 MODEL # R3450TI-E range is 65°F – 104°F for spa use and range is 65°F – 95°F for pool use. The 62,000 heat pump will raise the temperature by 1-degree every 15-minutes for the spa with approximately 1038 gallons. You will need to use Natural Chemistry COVER FREE 32 Oz - 07100 to prevent evaporation 80% of heat loss is due to evaporation.

I have a 26X15X52 above ground pool in Northern New Jersey. What heat pump do you recommend? Thanks.
Reply
Hi Gary, This 62,000 BTU unit would be a good-sized unit for you if you are looking to extend your pool season by 1 month in the spring and 1 month at the end of the season.
Reply
Thanks for the response. is there any down side to getting a bigger unit? Like a 95K or 110K?
Reply
Hi Gary, No the larger unit will heat faster and bring your pool up to a higher temp. You do need to make sure you have a large enough breaker to handle the larger unit. Typically the largest breaker you will need is a 60 amp dedicated breaker.

How do I determine the BTU requirement? I live in Spicewood TX. Pool is 13,000 gallons.
Reply
Hi Troy and thank you for your question. Are you trying to extend your season by a month or 2 or do you want to be able to swim year-round? You can use this guide if you have an inground pool and this guide if it is an above-ground pool to calculate what you need. Per the inground heater recommendations, your pool would need to be about 150 square feet or less in surface area to get a 1 degree per hour rise in temperature for this 62,000 BTU heater. Do not neglect the cost of running your pump while the heater is running as well. It is generally more economical to get a larger heater to keep your pump running less. Send us some more details and we would be happy to help you select a properly-sized heater.
