I need parts for my filter valve. When I look at the filter parts breakdown, it gives me different choices. How do I know which one is the one I need?
Reply
In order to locate the correct parts we will need to know the model number of the filter valve. Two identical filters can have two different valves. Typically the valve model will be located on the label of the valve. If there is no model number on the valve, you can try to see if there are any part numbers on the valve itself. Once you've located you valve model you can check out our >Filter Valve Parts.

please tell me, are the two connections which go to the DE filter adjustable when the valve is purchesed or are they fixed? my anthony filter has an 8 inch center to center distance but nowhere do i see distances specified.

Hello Joe - The plumbing connections cannot be changed on the 261152 valve. You may want to checkout valve model 4702P. This is a complete valve body without the plumbing connections. You can plumb this valve to match your Anthony filter.

I have a Pac Fab Model MS-20-2 Serial number 2916 5112 multi port value that has failed. It is used on a Nautilus NS-60 DE filter. Is this value plug and play for the old value, and/or do you recommend getting a new filter at the same time?
Reply
Mr. Arnold, If you're planning to replace the entire filtration system, then it will be netter to do it at the same time. In the meanwhile you can replace your multiport valve with this one and it can also be used on the newer Pentair D.E. Filters.

Is the input and output connections from the pool threaded or glued on the 261152 valve? I don't seem to be able to find a picture anywhere.
Thanks

Which port is which? The two ports that attach to the filter are obvious, but I can't see if the others are labeled. Which is the in (from pump) port? Which is the out (to pool)? And which is the backwash/drain port?
I'm guessing backwash is the one by itself and on the two port side the inlet is the top, outlet is the bottom to match filter ports? Thanks
Reply
Hi Chris, All of the ports on the 2" Multiport Valve Threaded for D.E are labeled so that installation is done correctly. The port on the right on the opposite side will labeled "pump", the "return" port will be back to the pool and "waste" would be backwash.

We have this valve and it is not backwashing properly, we get a suction rather then a flow out, on the out tube. Why could that be? Other than this it seams to be working properly.
Reply
Hi Julie, I would recommend having someone come out to check your system because what you're describing does not possible.

I have an older FNS 60 filter and the back flow valve appears to be bigger in diameter than the 2 " variety, its more like three inches. Where it connects to the filter its 3 1/4 inches. Do you have a remedy
Reply
Hi Gary, the 2" is talking about the pipe going into the valve not the connections for the valve onto the filter. You should see digital writing on your pipe going into the valve and it should either 1.5" or 2". If it says 2" then this is the valve for you.

I have a Pentair FNS48 DE side mount Filter with a Slide valve assembly and am considering the two inch valve shown herein. I do not have the option of "waste" with the slide valve and I noticed that this valve assembly does. Will it work with my Pentair FNS48 Filter?

Hi George, Yes this valve will work on the Pentair FNS48 DE Filter.

I need to replace an American Products Titan RPM DE filter and 2" American Products Multiport valve. The Pentair #18007 filter and 2" multiport valve look like a close match. Any way to get dimensions, etc. to see how much plumbing work will need to be done to make this switch?

The intake measures 8" from the bottom of the filter to the first bulkhead fitting, the filter discharge measures 15-1/2" from the bottom of the filter to the second bulkhead fitting. The height of the FNS Plus 36 Sq Ft Filter w/o Valve - 180007 is 43" and the vertical clearance required to remove the grids is 62". The 2" Hi-Flow Valve with Bulkhead Fittings for DE - 261142 best recommended with this filter.

My pe tair filter is located below my pool. Is there any secret to replacing the multiport Vale and not having the pool try to drain completely? Ther
e are not valves for every return.

Hi, Steven. In situations like yours, a shutoff valve should be installed to eliminate this. Otherwise, you will have to manually stop water from backflowing when you remove the old valve.

Will this multiport valve fit a Pentair II TR140. I want to buy that filter. I'm removing my old Sta-Rite filter and multiport and would like this multiport because my old piping will be a pretty close fit thanks
Reply
Hi. This valve is not compatible with the TR140 sand filter, you can use P/N 261055.

Hello again and thank-you. I want the intake and output on the other side. I don't have room on the left side. I would have to remove a fence and re pipe a lot with too many bends. Any ideas. May have to abandon the Pentair. But since Pentair makes the Sta-Rite filters now they are not making big ones. Any other brands to look at?

Rose. The Universal 2" Multiport Valve - SM-20-3 will allow you to plumb your filter how you wish.

Hello Just double checking.. again. When I went to order at inyo they said to double check with you. Pentair TR140 and the SM-20-3 are compatible?? And I just finish the plumbing?? Correct? And thank-you so much.

What's the difference between these 2 valves? #261055 and #261152
Thanks

The 261152 model is designed for the FNS, FNS Plus & NSP DE Filters while the 261055 model is designed for the Sand and Quad D.E. filters.

Just had a new DE filter and pump installed. The Pentair MPV says "For sand use only". Why is it sand use only? Should I have these guys replace it with a "DE" MPV? Google not telling me much about this.
Reply
There some model valves that are similar to one another however specifically designed for either sand or D.E. filters. I would confirm your filter and the model valve that is on there to be sure.
Reply
I discovered that "sand only" in my case meant the MPV was running the filter backwards. After a month of stupidity on the installers part (and my instance of a new filter) it's finally right. Good thing I was forced to use "professional installers" Instead of doing it myself correctly and having no warranty, I had these morons do it and it cost them $1200 and several trips to my house (and a month of an unusable pool in the summer) Good job "professional" pool contractor! Totally worth it!

Is the top side of the valve: is the pump to valve and the bottom valve to pool. The the other side is that for backwash pipe?
Hi, Daniel. Yes, the top left port is connected to the pump, the lower right is connected to the pool return and the port on the opposite end is the waste or baskwash.

Just to verify before ordering. Filter is Pentair FLT FNS PLS 48 with a 7 1/2' centerline on inlet/outlet to the filter Is this the correct valve?

I have the praher multi port valve side mounted 2 in model no . SM20-2 D.E. Filter NSF -50 That needs replacement . I noticed your female threading is different than my threading . Please see attached photo . Are the white fittings extensions and are they included with the multiport valve ?
Hi RP, It appears you have a Jandy DE Filter using the SM20-2 Valve. Here is a link to this complete Jandy SM20-2 Replacement Valve and if you just require parts for the valve then you may view or purchase parts for your valve through this link - Jandy SM20-2 Replacement Parts

I have same valve i want to completely replace. Mine current one is like your pic w/ the influent/effluent hard (glued) plumbed. Does not have any threaded female only smooth inlets for gluing (for the waste line). Will this fit my Sta-Rite SM20-2 DE filter? center to center is 7.812" per manual.
Reply
If you have the Praher Universal Multiport Valve 2" FPT (D.E.) - SM-20-2 the plumbing parts were set for the design of the filter needs and we will need the filter model# to help suggest. You did mention your center to center connections are 7.5" for a valve to install. The 2" Multiport Valve Threaded for D.E - 261152 is 7-1/2" Centerline and the Multiport Valve Kit 2in Oem Eqfv Wg (261055) is also 7-1/2" Centerline. The image I added is for the Multiport Valve Kit 2in Oem Eqfv Wg (261055). The valves are for Pentair filters, they will not install on all filters with 7.5 Centerlines.
We need to replace a Sta-Rite 2 inch DE, multi port valve. I know Pentair took over Sta-Rite. Is there a specific model that works with the Sta-Rite DE filter?
Hi Curt, there are two options that we have listed for the Sta-Rite System 3 D.E. model S8D110 model filter after key number 21 on this parts diagram.
