I need parts for my filter valve. When I look at the filter parts breakdown, it gives me different choices. How do I know which one is the one I need?

In order to locate the correct parts we will need to know the model number of the filter valve. Two identical filters can have two different valves. Typically the valve model will be located on the label of the valve. If there is no model number on the valve, you can try to see if there are any part numbers on the valve itself. Once you've located you valve model you can check out our >Filter Valve Parts.

On the Pentair Multiport Valve Kit 2" Generic Threaded (sm2-pp3) that is not an option to replace that part. Other manufacturers offer a Plug, Poly, 1/4" Mpt (3f14) - TP4004PP use PART # 6761-0 for their valves. I cannot guarantee this will work but it worth a chance.

I have a valve plate that states 'Valve Model SM-20-3 Valve Assembly Model SM2-PP3"
The valve is leaking out the top. What do I need to fix it and is there a complete gasket set?

Hi Peter, yes there are two tune-up kits for your Parker SM20 series multiport valve. One with the valve spring and another without it. Please see this parts diagram to view bot option tune-up kits.

(5 out of 5 stars) Multiport Valve

Pros: Inexpensive, perfect fit, works great
Cons: none
I needed a new multiport valve for an older Triton sand filter. This was the best price I found and the valve is perfect. Works like a dream. I had no idea how poorly the old one worked. We bought our house with the pool and never had a pool before, so I was not familiar with the equipment. The old valve was stiff and hard to turn. It also kept rolling the spider gasket, so I had to take it apart every time I backflushed the filter. This valve works like butter. Very happy I bought it.
