Yes this valve made by Praher Valves will replace the valve used on the Waterco S600. If your current valve has a six sided top and external threads on 3 of the valve ports and is connected to the plumbing with unions, then you will a little re-plumbing which you will need to do.

I had one of these installed with a new pool 14 years ago and experienced the handles snapping off on four occasions during this time. am not sure if your current model will fit the thread of the sand filter itself or if the diameter of the pipes has altered and is the unit complete with all of the required internal parts ? Kind Regards, Max. in Melbourne, Australia.

As long as you are replacing the same model valve with the exact replacement model then all will remain the same. Also if you are not sure then have the specific filter model and cross reference the valves used for that filter model.

I replaced this valve but the filter/ backwash/recirc/etc is not in the right place. Moving the handle to gilter did not filet, tried moving the handle to recirculate seems like it may be the filter. Is there anyway to tell the difference between it being on filter vs Recirculate?

Susie, When the valve is in "Recirculate" mode it will bypass the filter, which the pressure gauge will be at '0' and in "Filter" mode it will go through the filter which the pressure gauge will show the pressure increase.
