I have an AO Smith Century Centurian 1 1/2 hp pump B128. Which shaft seal do I need?

Hi, Lina. You will need to provide us with the model # of the pump housing in order to locate the correct pump seal.

I am looking for a shaft seal that fits a Doughboy Powerline pool pump, model # 0-3047-200. Do you carry this or do you know where I can find one? Thank you!
Reply
Hi, Ray. This Pump Seal 100 - PSR100 will not fit the Doughboy Powerline pool pump. We do not carry a pump seal that will fit. You may need to contact DOUGHBOY @ 866-DOUGHBOY.

I don't know if my dura-glas is pre or post 98. The pump model tag was painted over. It has an A.O. Smith C48J2PA105C1 motor. Do I need this pump seal or the new style?
Reply
I would just use the new style seal and then remove the copper cone insert that would be in the seal plate if it is an old generation model. That would allow the new style seal to fit properly.

Step 1 Go to local pool store and get told the motor is bad and you might as well replace the pump as well... That will only be about $600.
Step 2 Check out Inyopools.com and enter in the relevant data. I found all the parts I needed and dropped them in the shopping cart... but wait, do I need this other gizmo???
Step 3 Chat with Inyopools.com. They looked at my shopping cart and ensured I had the right parts for my pump and I was now 100% confident.
Step 4 Parts arrive and I am ready to get to work.... but this pump seal, what side faces which way.
Step 5 Watch Inyopools.com videos on how to install a pump seal.
Step 6 Called Inyopools.com and the guy checked the part and the motor and we scoured over the exploded diagram and he explained to me how to install the pump seal.
Step 7 Installed pump seal and motor and plumbed everything back in. No leaks, no issues, no problem!

I ordered a new pump motor and called for advice. The tech recommended I also purchase this pump seal. The price was right and the fit was excellent. I love that my pool is up and running again.

I would suggest when selling this product you also advise to buy the water based lubricant - water based lubricants are hard to find - they are mostly silicone based.
