Hi David, We do not have installation instructions for this part. However, it's pressed into the seal plate and a little silicone sealer on the outside to keep it in place.

Hi Mark, We are checking on the dimension now and will reply back when we have that measurement. Here is the Shaft Seal that goes with this insert. We have a Video on Determining Your Shaft Seal and Copper Insert which might find helpful.

Some pumps took this heat sink ans some didn't make sure your pump needs this.

There is only 1 application for this copper insert. If you have a StaRite Maxi/Dura Glass pump prior to 1998 this is correct.

(5 out of 5 stars) Copper insert for old Dura-Glas pump
Reviewed By: Joe T. from San Rafael, CA ()
Pros: It was exactly the right size and shape.
Cons: None
The insert was exactly the right size to fit into the 30 year old pump seal plate, in which I had just replaced the motor. I had tried to reuse the old insert, but water leaked from the pump. With the new insert and silicone sealer, no more leaks.
