I have Sta Rite Dura-Glas (not Dura-Glas II) that I need to replace. I dont see the entire pump listed for sale anywhere, only replacement parts. Do you have this pump? Is there another pump that would be a direct replacement?
Reply
You are correct, the Dura-Glas is no longer available as a whole unit, only parts are available. As for a true drop in replacement there is none but we do recommend the Max-E-Pro series as an equivalent and durable replacement.

I have a model P2R A5D 120 pump. It has a copper sleeve that the seal mating ring fits into. The sleeve looks okay. Can I install a new seal into it, or will I have to replace the seal plate? Thanks.

I would like to replace my old pool pump P2RA5D-120 with the new one. My pool is in ground rectangle 30x15 feet with slope down bottom to 8 feet deep end. What size of the pool pump do I need to purchase?
thanks

Hi, Jozef. You can use the Speck EasyFit MXG 3/4HP Max Rated Pump - IG281-1075M-0DG as a drop in replacement for this pump.

My pool pump has stopped working P2RA5D 120 L without changing the whole system can I increase the size of motor from 3/4 to 1 HP . and what additional parts would I need when changing out the motor

Hello David. It is possible to transition to a higher total horsepower motor without changing the entire pump. Increasing the horsepower of the motor would necessitate a change in the impeller and possibly the diffuser. Note; the total horsepower (THP) rating of a motor is the product of the horsepower (HP) times the Service Factor (SF). HP and SF information is located on the motor label. Example: Your 3/4 horsepower motor may have a SF of 1.27 = .95THP (1 HP) You may already have a 1 THP, in which case you may wish to upgrade to a 1.5 THP motor. Attached please find an exploded parts diagram for the Dura-Glas Pump. Matching the motor (key 1) to the impeller (key 10) and the diffuser (key 11) add the GOKIT and the project has the necessary parts. Sta-Rite Dura-Glas

Pros: This pump has been ultra reliable for me in a marine application. I had been usuing the 1/2 HP model for over 10 years and just recently switched to the 3/4 HP as i needed more waterflow for a new app
Cons: I haven't found anything I'm unhappy with these pumps.

I purchased this pump to replace a nonfunctional 6 year old spa pump. The product arrived promptly and in great shape. The install was easy and a lot cheaper than calling my pool guys.
