I just finished replacing the shaft seal on my booster pump. As soon as I turned the pump on water was leaking from the shaft seal. Is it defective or am I doing something wrong?

Depending on the model, the installation of a booster pump shaft seal can be slightly different than a pool pump shaft seal. Some booster pump and pool pump shaft seals require that a silicone sealant be used on the outer areas of the metal seat of the shaft seal. The seal will need to be lightly hammered into the body of the pump. You can use a 1 inch PVC coupling or a piece of 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe and a rubber mallet. This procedure will apply to any pool pump or booster pump using a >PS-1000 style shaft seal.

I HAD THE POOL PUT IN 1994. I HAVE REPLACED THE PUMP MOTOR IN THE PAST, BUT NOT THE PUMP. THE PUMP IS MODEL WFE-8, SERVICE FACTOR 1.30, 2 HP, SN 0892170, WHISPERFLO. THE MOTOR IS BEGINNING TO FREEZE INTERMITTENTLY. WHICH MOTOR DO I CHOOSE? DO I NEED TO REPLACE THE PUMP OR PARTS IN IT? IS THERE A REBUILD KIT?

Hello Tom - The correct replacement motor is model B843. The only parts you should need to replace are the seals. The seal kit for standard chlorine pools is part number GOKIT32. The seal kit for salt pools is GOKIT32SALT.

Doe this pump require attachment to house pipe to work

Hi Barbara, this pump requires a connection to the in-take and out-take using PVC pipe in order to circulate whatever body of water wouldn't like to be circulate.

What is the maximum flow rate (GPM) for a WhisperFlo WFE-8 (2HP)?

Mary, It depends on how much resistance is on the pump, but base on 40ft of head or resistance this pump can generate about 135 GPM.

Pros: Quiet, energy efficient, moves plenty of water, quality construction
Cons: Basket a bit small compared to Jandy, Lid Oring must be held onto while seating lid or it falls off
The Pentair pump was referred to me by a friend. I had a Jandy Stealth pump which lasted about 6+ years until it finally went out. I installed the Pentair with some minor replumbing and it has worked great so far. Pump is relatively quiet compared to my last pump and moves plenty of water. INYO prices and fast shipping and extensive inventory keep me coming back.
