I have a WFE-6 with a single speed 1.5hp motor, will this fit and work well?

Hello mark. The Pentair Whisperflo VS Motor Upgrade Kit - 2.2HP - MKIT32VS22 is compatible with the Pentair WhisperFlo WFE-6 (2.2 total horsepower). I want to assist my neighbor with a noisy pool pump motor. He has a Pentair WFE-8/011515 @hp single speed and I want to help him replace the motor with a higher efficiency one if possible. 20 x 40 pool in Central New York open 4 months a year. I see one MKIT32VS22. Is that a bolt on?
You could use the MKIT32VS22 motor kit as a replacement and it would bolt onto the WFE-8 Whisperflo. However, the total HP of the MKIT32VS22 is 2.2 and his current pump is 2.6. There would be a slight drop in flow rate. You might notice the decrease if there are spa jets, waterfalls, or other water features. If you want to keep the same flow rate, we recommend the Nidec NPTQ270. That is a 2.7 HP motor. We don't have a kit for that one at the moment, but the separate seal kit is part number GOKIT32.
