Hi guys, I may be waaaaaay behind here - would like to order a cartridge filter. I have 33,000 gallons of water - just can't see the metrics for what size I should buy. Can you help? Thanks!

Hi, James. Use our How To Size a Pool Filter guide for info on how to properly size a pool filter. The pump's flow rate is critical in the sizing of a pool filter.

I just got this filter with my NEW pool. How often do you have to replace it? Can you rinse and reuse?

Hi Jon, these cartridges are best rinsed once per month during the swim season unless the pool needs extra maintenance due to various reasons. Here is a guide that we put together called "5 Signs You Need to Replace Your Filter Cartridge" that may assist in getting an idea as to when a cartridge needs to be replaced.

I need to replace my jacuzzi 90 sq ft cartridge filter. I have an inground 19,000 gallon pool. Would the pro clean plus 100 be a good replacement. 2 adults use the pool.

Hi Joe, it seems as if this filter would be a good replacement however here is a guide that we put together called "How To Size a Pool Filter" that should assist.

I have a 700 gallon inground spa with a 1.5 hp motor and 3/4 hp impeller and 2" plumbing. Would this filter be a good fit for me?

Hello Eric. The Flow Rating for the Waterway ProClean 100 sq ft Cartridge Filter PCCF-100 is 100 GPM. Initial research into 3/4 HP impeller flow rates indicates a maximum flow rate below 100 GPM. The PCCF-100 would be compatible with the spa pump 1.5 HP, 3/4 HP Impeller, and 2" circulation pipe. For verification, research the performance data for your specific manufacturer/model pump with a 3/4 HP motor and at an estimated Dynamic Head for your installation. I recently installed a PCCF-100 in place of an old sand filter. Everything is working fine and I am pleased to see an increase in flow from the pool jets. I have a question about the pressure gauge on top of the filter vessel closure lid. Does this gauge read differential pressure across the inlet and outlet of the filter, or does it read only inlet pressure from the pump? The reason I am asking is because my initial start-up pressure with a new filter was 0 psi at maximum pump speed.

Hi Duane, the gauge measures the pressure from the filter inlet to the filter (as in the prefiltered water pressure). It is not unusual to see 0 pressure on a new, clean cartridge filter since they do not restrict the flow as much as sand or DE filters. Watch the pressure gauge and clean the cartridge when your pressure goes up to 8-10 PSI.
