For the Flex Tube Nest Ec65 (ECX1251), I noticed at the bottom of your parts listing, the asterisk indicates that the #14 washers are not included? Is this true?
Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob, I did a little more research on this and the Flex Tube Nest Ec65 (ECX1251) does include the key #14 washers. The kit includes items 5 and 13-23 we will update our page to reflect this information, thank you for bringing it to our attention.

My Hayward EC65 DE Filter is 36 years old. I cleaned the filter bags with acid last year. I am not getting the volume of water going back into the pool the last few years as before.. The water box on the inlet to the pump is full and no air bubbles seen. Is there a better way to clean the filter fingers or do they need replacing? Please help

Hello. I best recommend replacing the Flex Tube Nest Ec65 or replacing the entire unit Perflex DE Filter 27 Sq. Ft. If prefer to try cleaning them one more time you may like to try the Filter Cleaner 1 Qt. This product is specially formulated for removing body oils, dirt and soap scum.

Do you ship to Austria or is there a distributer in Austria or Germany?
How can I replace the check valve ?
Kind Regards
Werner

Hi, This part can be shipped to Austria. You will have to contact Hayward to find out if this part is available in Austria or Germany. The Check Valve slides out of the tank inlet port.

What is the difference between filters EC 65 and EC 75 and do both fit the same
body of filter?
Reply
Both filters use 120 DE flex tubes or "fingers," but the EC75 uses longer fingers. The EC65 fingers (part #: 4810-23) are 13.5 inches long and the EC75 fingers (part #: 4810-23A) are 16 inches long. Both the EC65 and EC75 fit into the same tank housing.

What is the purpose of the plastic sticks inside the rods and what damage occurs if they are missing?
Do; the rods lose there effectiveness with age?

Hi, The plastic stick that you're referring too is the support structure of the fingers. It keeps the tubes in place so that the water can properly flow through. If it's damage or missing then the filter looses its ability to effectively filter your pool water.

What is the effective life span of the flex tubes on the ec65a filter? Mine are over 20 years old and I am questioning if they are still effective.
Reply
Hi. The average life of a nest assembly is about 4 years. After 20 years I think that it's no longer effective.

I have a 25+ year-old Hayward EC65, and the tube nest is pretty much shot and needs replacing. Seeing that a whole new EC65 filter costs only slightly more than the tube nest alone, can I just remove the tube nest from the new filter housing and install it in the old filter housing? This is mainly to avoid having to remove the old filter and replacing it with a new filter.

Hi, Jason S. Yes, you can make the swap if your current filter body is in good condition, however, I would recommend just installing the new filter.

I bought a new nest for an ec65 pool filter however when starting filter it still blow fine particularly into pool on startup. Any ideas

It may not be an issue & can be normal to get a little DE back into the pool after replacing the nest or grids. It could be that the filter just needs more time for the DE to "cake" up to the nest in this application. However if it does not stop or continues than we suggest breakig the filter back down & looking at the tube sheet to see if there may be a crack.

My Hayward Filter (Tank) says EC65A and EC75A on it, will this fit my Hayward Filter?
Thank you
Hi, Charles. Yes, this Flex Tube Nest EC65 - ECX1251 or the Flex Tube Nest EC75 - ECX125175 can be used in the tank you have. The pool size and or flow rate will determine which Nest you actually need.

My pool size is 27 foot 48 inch high above ground. The fingers have to be 25 years old. The tank, tank to and handle are only a couple of years old. I should have just bought the entire filter. oh well. Should I go with the EC65 or EC75? Thank you for your help!

I have a Hayward Perflex EC-60. Apparently it's from 1973!!! Previous owner left the manual. It's not filtering properly---blows DE back into the pool when it is turned off. Do I need to replace the whole unit or just the flex nest?
