I have a Polaris PB4-60 from 2010 that needs to be replaced. It is 1.5 hp. All I can find now are 3/4 hp Polaris PB4-60 pumps. Why? Do they no longer make 1.5 hp models?

Sean, Polaris PB4-60 Booster Pump only comes with a 3/4 hp Threaded Shaft Motor (B625), i don't think they ever came with a 1-1/2 hp booster pump.

I have a PB4-60 Polaris booster pump - can I just replace the motor as it's started making loud noise and sounds as if the motor is going out. If so, What do I need.

Hi Janet, You can replace just the motor, which will be the 3/4 hp Threaded Shaft Motor (B625). I would also recommend getting the Polaris Booster Pump Tune Up Kit.

I bought a new PB4-60 booster pump and hooked it up myself. After I turned on the power and the pool pump the new booster pump only made a very slight humming noise and then cut off after a few seconds. I replaced the capacitor even though the whole pump assembly was new but that didn't fix the problem. Do you know what I could have done wrong or is it possible that the new pump is no good?

Mark, I would recommend double checking the wiring to confirm if it was wired correctly. Also, does the shaft of the motor spin freely by hand?

I was going to buy part # B625 which is what a have now but was thinking of buying part # 3260-A001 Pump Polaris Booster PB4-60 which looks like a complete set up is this the correct item? I’m thinking of just replacing everything at one time.

Hi, Chris. Yes, this the complete pump which will include the B625 motor.

I am replacing the old motor that went out and would like to replace the whole thing. We went from a Polaris Vacuum to a Pentair Kreepy Krawly Racer about 4 years ago. Does the motor have to be a Pentair or am I good with replacing the motor with what I had already.

I purchased a home recently with this pump, I am fixing up some leaks and converting to a salt system and VSP for the main filtration. For this pump, how do I know which version (1994-2011/after 2011)? I see nothing on it that clearly identifies the age of the pump or date it was manufactured
Hi, Eric. Based on your serial number PB042413085, your unit is the (1994-2011) version.

OR EARLY 1990'S. HAS A SWIMMING POOL. POOL AS A POLARIS POOL SWEEP. PUMP MOTOR
HAS MOD# 173840CN WITH SERIAL# 24217CHCL010046218. CAN YOU TELL ME HOW OLD THIS
PUMP IS? MANUFACTURE DATE? THANKS

Phillip, Unfortunately, only the mfg has access to information like that. If you reach out to Polaris, they should be able to determine the year it was manufactured using the serial number information.
