is the air relief strainer the same thing as the internal air bleed assy. if not which grid assy. comes with the internal air bleed assy.

Hello Fred! The air relief strainer is often referred the as the internal air bleed assembly. It is the hose with the mushroom strainer on the top of the manifold and it is included in this assembly.

It is possible, but not 100%. There could only be a rip in one or two grids. If you can remove the assembly and look at all the grids for rips, that would be best. If , however, the grids are all the same age and you see rips in a few, the best idea would be to replace the whole set.

Is the air relief strainer the same as that finger like projection on the top of the top manifold and can the system be disassembled for cleaning ?

The air bleed assy is a finger like projection. It can most definitly be disassambled for cleaning. Please look at our video of How to Clean a DE Filter and while it is not the exact same, the process is the same.

I have a Nautilus DE filter (not SS), but can't read the label for part number. The grid panels inside read FG-1005. Is 59023300 the correct replacement?

Most likely you have the Nautilus FNS DE Filter if so then you would require the Nautilus FNS60 DE Grid Assembly. If you just need the DE grids and not the top and bottom manifold then you would need the 60 Sq. Ft. DE Grid Pack.

Dennis- The difference between the FNS and FNS plus grid assemblies would be the components that come attached to the grids and overall size. They use different parts such as the manifold, the spreader (or retainer), and the tie rod assembly.

No, it is not suggested to interchange the Grid Assembly from the Nautilus FNS to the FNS PLUS. They have different top and bottom manifolds though the grids are alike. The Tank Bottoms and Standpipes may have different dimensions, which could result in the Grid Assembly not connecting properly if they are interchanged.
