Is this the whole assembly?? Or just the grids? What does this come with? Everything in picture??

Hi Ivan, The Filter Element Assembly (DEX2400DC) is the complete filter assembly which includes all 8 grids, the manifold with air relief, the grid spacer, and the retaining rod. That's everything that is shown in the picture.

I NEED TO REPLACE FILTER GRID FOR A HAYWARD DE2420 INGROUND.
WHICH FILTER GRID DO I NEED...

The single full size filter grid is part number FG1002, the single partial grid is part number PG1902, the grid pack is part number FG1002PACK, and the grid assembly would be part number 4811-35.

Do you have to use waste to vacuum? If we use the regular cycle to vacuum, the dirt goes right through the filter and out the outflow back into the pool. Or does that mean we need to replace the insides of the filter? DE Progrid Series 2420. Middle of July and we can't get the pool clean. The Diatomacious Earth blows right through also when we put it in.

Hi, P. Turk. You can vacuum when the filter is in the waste or filtration position. A torn grid or grids, a cracked manifold are a few things that can cause DE and debris to get back into the pool. Our Getting DE Powder Back in Your Pool Blog has additional info that you use to resolve this issue.

if one is broken up top And the knob is broken off in the manifold , and the other 6 are not broken do you have to replace all 8, there all origanal from 2004

Hi, Dave. With the grids being 14 years old, I would recommend replacing the entire assembly. It will be convenient.

my part # shows De2420c...How can I be sure this is the proper unit to purchase?
Hi. The number in the picture is of the Top Manifold. Use our How to determine D.E. Filter Grid size guide to assist you.

I bought my unit used. The guy who sold it said it was Hayward 3620. Debris probably De is entering the pool probably because there may be a tear in filters. The only number I can find is DE 2420L and 2400-Z-10. The serial number is hard to read. Would I need 2420 replacement filters and if so do you sell them and how much? Thanks, Tom
We would not be able to tell based on these images but there may be a filter model number on the bottom right of the filter label and or you can measure the grid height and compare to the dimensions listed on the parts diagram of the filter here.

I have the Hayward DE2420. I need to replace the FILTERS. What is the correct filter to get? Is it the FG1002PACK or the DEX2420DC and what is the difference between these?

Hi Nilo, You can go with either. The FG1002PACK is just the DE Grids where the DEX2420DC is the complete Pre-Assembled Grid Assembly which includes the top and bottom manifold.
