I have a twist lock plug on my filter. I am assuming that you can plug in this type of plug into the timer? Also my filter is a 1.5 HP and the specs say it is good for 1 HP. Can I use this or is there another model that will work?

This timer is designed specifically for pumps with a twist cord, however it can only handle pumps up to 1.0 HP. We do not have a timer available for twist lock pumps over 1.0 HP.

I have a 1 1/2 HP Hayward filter, I need a timer box that I can connect to it. Will this handle it or do you have another timer that might?

This will only accommodate up to 1.0 HP pump. If this is for an above ground pool pump then you could use the following timer SP1500FT http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02200022032590.htm

Is the the plug or the receptacle twist lock?
Reply
The recptacle on the timer is designed to accept a twist lock plug and the plug coming off of the timer is also twist lock. So both the receptacle and plug are twist lock.

Can this timer be mounted to a wooden receptacle post?
Reply
According to Intermatic, the P1131has a keyhole on the back which will allow it to be mounted to a post with a screw or nail. They recommend mounting the timer at least 1 foot above any standing water or snow.

Hi Bob. I had the same problem with a similar model timer. I fixed it by replacing the small motor inside, which was pretty simple. If you power down and take a look at the inside you may find a part number for that motor. Otherwise you can give Intermatic a call at 815-675-7000 and check for a better solution.

Hi Sandra, This timer can be used with a 1.5 hp pump as long as the pump does not draw more than 20 amps at 115 volts.

Hi, I have an above ground pump with this twist lock plug, the pump has a 1/2 hp or 2 hp option. I only ever use the 1/2 hp, option and run the pump 24 hours. I’m looking to run the pump less and want this timer, however, will the 2hp setting bother the timer if I don’t run the pump on that setting? Thanks for your input!

Hi, Robin. This timer will not be able to power the high-speed function of the motor. You can use this timer to operate the pump on the low speed. function. The pump must have a toggle with and operate at 115 volts in order to use this timer.
