The manual says that a diverter valve can be installed for vacuuming to waste during heavy spring clean up or pulling rain water out of the pool. Where would it be installed? Do you sell this valve?
Reply
Yes we do carry this diverter valve which you may view or purchase through this link http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352023400.htm This valve has 3 ports on it, the valve would screw into the disharge side of your pump and you can have the handle turned so the return water goes through your filter or you can turn the valve in the opposite direction so the dirty water goes to waste and bypasses your filter, this is very helpful when vacuuming or for heavy spring clean up.

Do you recommend this filter for 1Hp. Motor, 18,000 gallons in ground pool. Replacing my old Hayward DE gilter.

Roberto- I would not recommend this filter for your pool. Your pump is, more than likely, too strong for you to use the Perflex DE Filter EC50AC. I would recommend the EC75A. It has a higher flow rating (100 gpm).

If my pump is pushing 75 GPM, would the es50ac be able to handle it?
Reply
AN EC50AC has a maximum suggest gallon per minute flow rating of 50. For that size pump, I would suggest an EC75A wich is rated at 80GPM.

we need the diaphragm or gasket that holds pressure in filter when you bump it

Hello, You can find the diaphragm gasket for the EC50AC here: http://www.inyopools.com/Products/07501352018080.htm

What would cause the pump to blow algae back into the pool after it has been shut off for a while and then turned back on?
Reply
Mike, I would recommend inspecting the large gasket, d.e. fingers and the gaskets on the bump shaft assembly.

After we turn the system off, bump the pump and turn it back on...DE sprays out of the jets. Does this mean that we have broken one of the plates at the top of the filter?
Reply
It is possible that one of the plates are broken OR one or more fingers have broken and that is what is allowing the DE powder to re-enter the pool.

what is the difference between this and model No. EC50C?
Reply
Hello Luther- The difference would be the EC50AC is just the filter while the EC50C is the filter that comes in a combo with the pump. If you are looking for just the filter the EC50AC would be what you want.

How do i know which DE filter to buy?
Pool is 16'x32'. 4'deep shallow end is 8' long with a sloping trunk to a depth of 10'.

Hi. Filters are sized based on the flow rate of the pump. You can follow the steps in our How To Size a Pool Filter guide.

What are the dimensions of
EC50AC DE filter as I can not find then and it goes under a deck

Hi, John. The EC50AC filter dimensions are 31-3/8" H x 13-1/2" W. An additional 10" of top clearance is required to operate the filter.

I have a Purex D.E. filter model SM 2036 on my Jacuzzi. It has flow rate of 72 gpm and a 50 psi max pressure. It is worn out and needs to be replaced. What would you recommend?
Reply
Hi. Based on your current filter model and style, I'd recommend the Perflex - EC75A or the Earthworks - EW36. The 4000 Series - SMBW4048 is an upgrade option that will provide you with a higher effective filtration and flow rate.

Hi- I currently own a two speed 1.5 hp pump (Speck model E71-III) but the filter it was paired with needs to be replaced. I am considering the EC50AC and my pool is a 24 foot round above ground. I would like to use the low speed setting on the pump for energy efficiency but the flow rate will be less than 50 GPM. Will this filter type still be effective at rates below 50 GPM? Thank you for the help!

Hi, Dan. A flow rate lower than 50 GPM is fine, the flow rate just cannot exceed the 50 GPM.

Hi, i have a Hayward E 65 filter, want do you recommend for a replacement?

I have an old regenx rg70093sft. Filters are no longer available. My pool is 18’ and 54” high. Would this model work as a replacement?
Reply
Hi Jonathan, Yes this would be a suitable replacement for the Hayward RG70 Regenx filter and would be the filter we suggest. The plumbing ports are not in the exact location as your old filter, if you are using hoses then no big deal. If you do have hard plumbing to your pump and filter then you will have a little re-plumbing but nothing major. We do have this filter in stock ready to ship.
