Can the pump be disassembled to check if something is lodged in the motor.
Recently, replaced capacitor pump started fine then stoped.

Hi Dennis, Yes the pump can be disassembled we have a great How to Guide and Video showing how to replace a pool motor and this goes into the disassembly of the pump. I think you will find this helpful.

Need a SP 3010x 15az Hayward Super II Pump - but not the electric motor. Do you sell just the pump ?
Thank

Hello Bill, there is no kit to order just the wet end of this unit. you would need to order from the Hayward Super II Parts page

Went to turn pump back on after being off for a few hours. It sounded funny and then saw smoke from the motor. Quickly turned it off. Its SP3010X15AZ Hayward SUper II for an inground fiberglass Salt pool. Before I call a Pool Service nearby (Rome GA), just wondered...is it possibly just the motor, or the whole pump ?? I've been looking online for this item number and see pumps and motor, or both as a package??

Hello Dan, sounds like the motor fried. You can replace just the motor with the Century 1.5 HP Round Flange Up Rate Motor (C48L2N134) Formerly A.O. Smith - UST1152. I would also recommend replacing the seals when ever you change the motor with the Tune Up Kit Hayward Super II - GOKIT2.

Just got your response from Alan M. But do I need a SALT version of the Tune Up Kit or are they all the same?

The saltwater shaft seal is going to be the only difference in that kit, which is a heavy duty, less corrosive shaft seal than the regular shaft seal. If you have a saltwater pool you should definitely get the saltwater kit, if it's chlorine you'll be fine with the regular kit.

Is this a direct drop in replacement for the Hayward RS1000?
Reply
The Super II Pump 1 1/2 HP Single Speed - SP3010X15AZ is comparable in total horsepower to the RS1000. The main difference is the intake and discharge ports, the RS1000 offers threaded 1.5" inside and 2" outside. The SP3010X15AZ has 2" threads on the inside of the intake and discharge and measures a little over 25"' in length. Please refer to our How To Replace a Pool Pump for detailed instructions.

I have the pool pump Hayward Super II Pump 1.5 HP Single Speed - SP3010X15AZ. The motor just went out but my pool guy is telling me that I need to replace the whole thing and not just the motor. Is this true?
Motor is model number C48L2N134B3
Thank You

Good afternoon, you could just change the motor and seals. You would order A.O. Smith 1.5 HP Round Flange 56J Up Rate Motor - UST1152 and a Tune Up Kit Hayward Super II - GOKIT2.

Hi. Does this pump comes with unions? If not what unions should I buy? I am trying to replace my 1HP pump (SP3007X10AZ) with this 1.5HP pump (SP3010X15AZ)? My current pump has a pipe size of 1.5in but this new pump has a pipe size of 2in? Will this be a problem?

Hi MNJ, No this pump does not come with unions. We would suggest two of this 2" Pump Union and it not be a problem going from 1.5" to 2" at your pump. You need to get a few fitting from you local hardware store to step up from the 1.5" pipe to the 2" union.

Does the Hayward Super II 1.5 HP handle Saltwater pools?

Hello Michael, Yes the Hayward super II 1.5 hp will work for a saltwater pool.

Will I need any gaskets or any other parts to handle the installation? I will give my pool service man a call

Hi Howard. The only additional items we would recommend for a pump installation would be adding unions at the pump fittings like these CMP 2" MPT, 2" Socket Union (Single) - 21063-200-000 to make servicing it in the future a simpler process. Some pumps come with unions, but this one does not.
