Hi,
Is the Hawyard C-751 Star Clear filter the replacement for the C-750?
Reply
Yes the C751 would be the replacement the older the C750, the port location on the C751 is slightly different so if you would be replacing the entire filter housing you may have a little bit of re plubming required. You may view or purchase the C751 through this link http://www.inyopools.com/Products/02200066000455.htm If you are just requiring the replacement cartridge for the C750 you may view or purchase this item through this link http://www.inyopools.com/Products/06400012004053.htm

Are there specs on how many microns this filter is rated at? Is there available another filter that won't allow finer particles to pass through?
Reply
As a rule, sand filters sift particles ranging from 20 to 40 microns in size. Cartridge filters can sift particles as small as 10 to 20 microns in size. DE filters can sift contaminants as small as 1 to 3 microns in size. This makes DE filtration at least five to six times more efficient than sand filtration systems.

I have a 5,000 gal. 15'x48" vinyl pool with a 3/4 HP pool pump. Will this filter work or is it to big. Looking for an inexpensive Quality cartridge filter. I have a Waterco 25 that is in bad shape.

Hi Ed, this would be a perfect filter for a 5,000 gallon pool using a 3/4 HP pump. I would feel comfortable suggesting this filter for your pool set up.

can you tell me why I cannot remove the top of my filter housing, it screws off so far then it just keeps clicking and move any further .
thanks for any help you can give me.

E.McKinlay, It sound like the Locking Knob (CX900G) is stripped. What you will need to do is once you unscrew the knob to the point it keeps clicking, keep lifting the filter lid until it is free.

What Hayward cartridge filter system would you recommend for a 10,000 gallon in ground pool?
Reply
Hello John - For residential pools, the C751 would be suitable for a 10,000 gallon pool as long as your pump does not provide more than 75 gallons per minute.

I have a C751 Hayward Cartridge Filter, I keep hearing a rumbling noise in filter when power isturn off. It sounds like it is loosing air in the tank.
Have replaced the 0-Ring on locking knob, and 2 fibre washers and also replaced directional vent valvw w/o-ring.
Can you help with this problem.

For something like this there are multiple possible reasons. What is occurring is air is being released from the system causing loss of pressure hence water flowing back into the pool. This could be caused by bad o rings, seals, or valves. A tech on site is your best option to go through the process of elimination.

I am looking to purchase a 28ft round pool in the ear future and would like to know what would be the best most efficient cartridge filter/pump system to run with that pool?

I have a inground vinyl pool. 16x32 21,100 gals calculated gpm=45.8 what size/model Hayward cartridge filter do i need. I currently have DE filter but dont want the hassle of DE anymore.

I'd recommend at least 120 sq ft filter which is C1200 for that size of pool. The 175 sq ft would be even better if you're looking to do less work with your filter. That part number is C17502 and with a bigger filter you won't have to clean as much.

hello! i'm looking at the 751/900/1200 filters... (1.5in inputs). do these filters utilize the same base? i ask because we will likely be installing a larger pool in the near future and it'd be nice to "plumb once" and swap out the top part (and small bits) of the filter housing if we were to move from the 751 to the 1200 (or from the 900 to the 1200)... rather than re-plumb an entirely new filter housing.

They have the same base but I'd recommend just purchasing the C1200. A bigger filter than you need right now is not going to hurt anything on your current system, and then when you get a bigger pool you already have the bigger filter. Then you wouldn't have to spend the extra money purchasing an additional filter.

Needing to replace my sand filter, 33’ round above ground, have 1.5hp dynamo pump currently. Would this cartridge filter be a good replacement?
Reply
Good day, with a 33' round and 1.5hp pump I would recommend at least a c900 unit.

Can this filter be used for potable water ? I would like to put it inline on my well to remove sand and silt . My pump is 1 1/2 HP and puts out about 16 GPM . Also my water pressure will never be higher than 20 PSI because it does not feed a pressurized tank.

Hi, Thomas. Based on the info provided, this filter will be sufficient for your application.

We currently have a Hayward Star clear II C-800 body filter tank. I am looking to see if there is an equivalent filter housing for this product. Do you have any recommendations?
Thank you!

Unfortunately, we do not have a replacement C800 filter body. That would have to be replaced with a C900 series.

Can this filter be used on above ground pools? I have a 10,000 gal above ground with a Hayward 1 hp sp1580 pump.

MY POOL IS OVAL 15X30 X5FT.DEEP. IS THIS FILTER GOOD.??

Hello, What would be the brand and the model of your current pump? We would need to see if the gpm exceeds the filter so the new filter does not break.

I have a 1600 gallon capacity in-ground hot tub, with Pentair SF-N1-3/4A/340037, HP 3/4, 3450 RPM pump.
My current filter is Hayward C-1100. I am wondering if this setup is over speced? I need to replace the filter as it is leaking and I was wondering if this 75sq ft filter will suffice (Can I go lower to 50 sq ft filter)?

Hi Kona, so there are a few variables to consider when sizing an inground pool or spa filter. Here is a guide that we put together called "How To Size a Pool Filter" that should help.
