I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!

You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

I just finished replacing the shaft seal on my booster pump. As soon as I turned the pump on water was leaking from the shaft seal. Is it defective or am I doing something wrong?

Depending on the model, the installation of a booster pump shaft seal can be slightly different than a pool pump shaft seal. Some booster pump and pool pump shaft seals require that a silicone sealant be used on the outer areas of the metal seat of the shaft seal. The seal will need to be lightly hammered into the body of the pump. You can use a 1 inch PVC coupling or a piece of 1 1/4 inch PVC pipe and a rubber mallet. This procedure will apply to any pool pump or booster pump using a >PS-1000 style shaft seal.

My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?

The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

Alex, The GOKIT32 is specifically made for the "wet-end" of the pump not the motor. The bearings are specific to the motor not just the pump model. We can try to match the bearing based on the model number or the size of the bearings.

I have a Pentair WF-26 , 011773 pump. The intake valve was left closed from a cleaning and the pump ran 8 hours dry. The pump works but seems like it is making a lot more noise. Is it likely that the pump was damaged and if so, any recommendations on parts that would be needed to rebuild the pump? I did not find a new pump without the motor as a part on the web site. Is that available and if so, how much?

Hi Steve, many times when this happens the motor can get extremely hot actually warping the pump housing and damaging the motor. My suggestion would be a complete new Pentair Whisperflo WF-26 011773 Pump. You could keep your old pump for spare parts if you ever needed them.

I think I found the right replacement motor for the Pentair Super Flo High Performance Pump (Motor # 196237) Part # 340037 Model SF N1-3/4A
It's the Century B2847. 56Y. What tune up kit do I use since you don't list Super Flo only Whisper Flo ? Please let me know if I have the right Motor, Also is there an EE model for better efficiency.

I have a Whisper Flow unit. The place where you add water before turning on the pump. The part 357150 has two ridges broken so I cannot tighten the lid. Every thing works but this tightening device. Can I purchase such part to align and secure the lid.

Hi, David. The GOKIT32 is for a Whisperflo Pump and GOKIT5 is for a Challenger Pump (High Pressure). The B2842 is the motor number which can be used on several different pumps. If you can provide us with the model number of the Challenger pump that you have we can confirm if GOKIT5 is the correct kit.

I have a pentair intelliflo pump WF/NT - 4 - 160 P/N 011013. I need a new impeller as the short 2 1/4" moulding that sticks out from the pump sheared off (side where the screw goes in) Will i also need a housing.

Do you have information on the front half of your pump? The best place to find your pump model information is on the pump housing tag. Pool pump manufacturers label each housing with make and model information as well as serial numbers. The pump model number is the golden ticket to finding the proper tune up kit, so we will want to find that most of all. The tag is usually placed on the side of the strainer basket or near the discharge port for easy access. Model number formats vary depending on the manufacturer but should be marked clearly.
