what is the inlet pipe size for this pump/filter? Is there a recommended skimmer box hose assembly? I have a Intek 4' x 24' pool, with ione of these filters, I think my skimmer box may be too small.
Thank you for your help

Bill, The 19" Above Ground Pool Sand Filter System W/ 1.5 Hp Pump has 1-1/2" port size. I don't think that the skimmer is too small, all above ground pool skimmers also has 1-1/2" port size also.

The plastic fan blade on the end of the motor has melted. I think I just need a new motor. I want to make sure it will fit the pump. What do I need?

Hi Lea, The 1.5 H.P 230/115V Thru Bolt Motor (BN35V1) would be the correct replacement motor. I would also recommend replacing the Pool Pump Shaft Seal Assembly.

Were can you get replacement parts. Have you had any problems with the plastic skimmer cracking on the pump.

Hello Eric. You can find replacement parts for the 1.5 HP Pump in the Above Ground Pool Pump Parts break down. To our knowledge, we have not had problems with the skimmer lid cracking, but if you do, the 19" Above Ground Pool Sand Filter System W/ 1.5 Hp Pump does have a one year manufacture warranty.

I am having problems with my current sand filter system. I don't think that it's big enough to carry the filtration. I am constantly having to backwash... It's a 17x32X5' intex pool. I am using the system it came with. Will a bigger filter system help my problem? I think its a 1 horse pump, but the sand tank is smaller. It hikds 100lbs. Of sand. Will this system be big enough? I need answers before I start replacing and it not solve the problem! Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tammy, A bigger filter will be good but not necessarily a bigger pump. It will be better if keep your 1 HP pump but go with a bigger filter.

I purchased this filter and pump some time ago, how do I find the model#?

Hello Dave, Your model number is located on the label in the bottom right hand corner. Should be a black dot around it, or just a section saying model#.

What type of sand should i use in this filter system / what is recommend for this system?
Reply
Hi Josh, The PL1512 PureLine Sand Filter System would use #20 silica sand, often times this type of sand is sold at hardware stores with labeling that says pool filter sand. Even if it does not say pool filter sand on the bags as long as it says #20 silica sand you will be fine.

Hi i want to know if this filtering system is ok for an INTEX METAL FRAME Pool 15ft x 42in and if yes is there any accessories i need? Thanks in Advance!
Reply
Hi Adrian, This pump and filter itself is properly sized to work on your Intex Pool. The only issue may be the hoses and your connection fittings, I believe the connections the Intex Pool are a little smaller than the hose that comes with this system, so you will probably need one of these Intex Plumbing Adapters

Is there any difference between a filter that uses sand and the one that uses filter powder.Which one works better and last longer.
Reply
Usually, the filters that use powder are the D.E.(DIATOMACEOUS EARTH) filter and filter smaller particles out of the pool water making them the most efficient type of pool water filtration that you can have. When maintained well they can ease the overall pool maintenance.

I live in the desert and instead of leaves and Misc. we have a sand problem blowing in with the million mile an hour wind we get. LOL Would I be correct in assuming a sand filter would be a poor choice for an above ground filter system. I have a cartridge filter now. Thanks
Reply
I would agree. The sand filters are the least efficient types of filtration and the cartridges are next in line being more efficient.

I just bought this package for my 24 ft round above ground pool. What sand do I need and where can I purchase it?

Hi Martin, We would suggest the S244T Hayward 24" Sand Filter as the proper filter to be paired with the Hayward Super Pump 1-1/2 HP Model SP2610X15

Hi, Eric. You can check out Inyo's What are the Electricity Requirements for Above Ground Pools? Blog. This will require a 20 amp 115 volt breaker.

Hi! Does the hoses included? If not, how many do i need?
Reply
The hose that is included is the one from the pump to the filter. Any other hoses may either be present but if not you can get those at any local pool supplier as standard above ground pool equipment hose. You may need reducer fittings in order for those sections to be clamped to the fittings.

Will this combination pump and filter work on my pool that Is 24 x 12 x 5’ deep I have read that it doesn’t come with an on off switch what is the part number for it thank you

Hi Doug, This would be a great replacement for a Hayward sand filter system on 19’ x 5’ above ground pool and it would not be too large. This would be the system we recommend.

I have an 18’ round above ground pool, I’m looking to replace my filter system.... would this be too big for my pool? Should I go smaller? Currently I have a 1 hp motor and 22 diameter sand filter by waterway? Any help would be great , thanks

I have bought the 19" 1.5hp pump. I am replacing a paper filter on a Bestway pool. Both of my current hoses are 1.5 inch but they are able to be screwed onto the current filtration system. Are the ports on this pump threaded? or am I going to need hose clamps to attach the hoses? Also will there be any other parts that I may need to be able to connect it up to my current set up? My pump is set to be delivered tomorrow and I am trying to plan ahead. Thank you.
Reply
Hi Amy, The ports on this pump has both internal and external threads. Normally customers will use the included hose adapters to screw into the pump ports and then slide the hose over the hose adapter and secure the hose to the hose adapter with the included hose clamp. If you run into any issues with the installation then please post photos back to this thread.

Reply
Hi Ann, We do not sell this filter just by itself as the pump and filter combo is a much better price when you purchase them together.

Does this combo work for a vinyl sided pool? I have been shopping around and speaking with different pool/spa people and have been told that these types of combos will not work with a vinyl sided pool, needs to be metal. Also, is a skimmer required?

Hi Sara, we customers who use some of these Soft Sided Pool Adapters to make this system work on there pool. Each pool is different so you would need to select the adapters specific to your application.

I have the Hayward 19in sand filter and the 1.5 HP Hayward power flo LX pump that came with the pool is this system as good as the Hayward sand filter and the Hayward power flo LX pump and is the head a 6 or 7 way control, I need to replace them both but I want something that will last, the Hayward lasted 14 years. Thanks

Hi Sam, In my opinion the PureLine system is every bit as good as the Hayward and you should see the same longevity out of this sand filter system.
