Solar covers used have detiorated in less than two years. What warranty for one that is used on slat water pool, with California sun?

The solar covers come with a 10-yr manufacturer's warranty. The warranty cover the cover against any defect from the manufacturing process. Chemical damage due to an imbalance of chemicals that has caused the cover to deteriorate is not covered under the terms of the warranty.

Hi- my pool is a Grecian shaped design. It is 29.666 long by 13.916 wide because of the rounded Grecian form at both ends. I was wondering your opinion of whether or not to go with the 14 x 28 size as to the coverage being sufficient, rather than spend and waste material on the next size up next size of 16 x 32“

For that size pool we would recommend the 16 x 32 and trim down to fit.

The last 2 solar covers I had disintegrated after 2 to 3 seasons. I believe this is because they were not UV coated. Is this cover UV protected?
Reply
Normally if a solar cover doesn’t last it is because it was not stored correctly. A cover should be washed off when stored for the season. It should not be on when super chlorinating or when chemicals are added. If storing on a solar reel then you should use a solar reel cover. None of the solar covers are UV protected as it would prevent the cover from doing its job.

do you have to put the cover on a reel?

Hi Kesha, you do not need to use a reel however it does make the storage and maintenance of a cover far easier and efficient. Constantly pulling it off of the pool surface and finding a place to store can be taxing. Here are our solar reel options if you need them as well.
