Is the salt included with the salt chlorine generator?
Reply
No, salt is not included. You would purchase the salt locally and the quantity will depend upon the number of gallons of water in your pool. Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The preferred salt is evaporated, granulated, food quality, and NON-iodized. Avoid using salt with anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide, also known as yellow YPS (prussiate of soda). These cause some discoloration of fittings and pool surface finishes. DO NOT use calcium chloride.

Do you offer the cell by itself without the sensor and cable? I recently replaced the sensor so I don't need that. Also, is there a way to test the cell to determine if it is bad? The last several water tests that were done show that the chlorine level is way too low. The salinity has been kept in range and I adjusted the chlorine production rate up to 100%. We've even shocked with liquid chlorine regularly but our water tests from the local pool store continue to indicate low chlorine levels.

Hi Rusty, The AquaPure Cell is only sold as a kit. There is no way to test the cell directly other than the ability to confirm that you're getting and holding a chlorine in your pool.

How do you clean this?

I have an aquapure700 salt/chlorine system. The salinity indicator on the control unit reads 0.0 for salt content. I have added 160 lbs of pool salt and have had the water tested. Based on the water sample test, it should be reading about 3.0. Why is the control system not showing any salt.

Hi Tim, The problem could be the Tri-Sensor or the control panel, it's hard to say which one.

I've got the Jandy 1400 PLC, I've replaced the cell with the new external flow meter. twice in the last few weeks. My problem is after shocking the pool to bring the chlorine up, it appears the system is not making chlorine, all the electrical connects are showing correct voltage, salt is showing 3.3, PH 7.4-7.6, but after a couple of days..no chlorine and low alkalinity..thoughts? Thanks in advance

I have the PLC 1400 working now for 3 seasons . I have a service indicator saying to clean the cell. I paid someone to look at the cell and it was clean. Do I need to purchase another unit just after 3 seasons

Peter, If the cell is clean, the sensor may need to be cleaned/reset. You can see instructions on how to do so on page 28 of the owner's manual.

I have the Jandy IAqualink RS and ready to bring in a salt generator. Do I need just the PLC1400 or PLC1400 + power center? Does the PLC1400 come with everything as a kit to go direct into my IAqualink?
Reply
Hi, Kelly. If you have one of these compatible power centers, 6614AP-L or 6613AP you can just purchase the AquaPure 1400 Cell Kit - PLC1400. If not, then you will need the AquaPure Power Center - APUREM and the AquaPure 1400 Cell Kit - PLC1400.

I have an older Jandy Aquapure system where the salt cell is only has 2 ports, and now they have 3. I think the control system is also getting old and functioning properly. Is there a specific system which is best or easiest to replace it with where the new cell that I install will fit in the same dimensions of the Jandy that I am removing?
Reply
Hi, Brian. There is not another system that can be used as a drop-in replacement for the AquaPure Systems.

doe the PLC1400 have 3 PINS? The item Shown only has 2
Reply
This cell does have 3-Prongs. The PLC700's have a 2 prong plug system and the PLC1400's have a 3 prong plug system, the item in the photo is a PLC700 so the item you will receive will be a 3 prong cell.

I am looking at the PLC1400, and it says this is a 3-pin model, but your pictures show only 2 pins sticking out. Is this an error, or does the item have 2 pins?
2) I see the measurement image, but wondered if you could tell me if the O.D. of the neck just below the threads is 3.0" on all the three fittings? I see the threads are 3.25", so I think it will fit mine, but wanted to check.
3) If the item does not appear correct, can it be returned as long as it has not been installed/used?
