Product Description

Jandy Replacement Salt Cell PLC1400

Utilizing ordinary salt, the electrolytic AquaPure cell generates free chlorine for your pool. As the salt in the water passes through the AquaPure cell, it converts to free chlorine and continuously kills bacteria and algae while maintaining the desired sanitization you need to keep your water pure and clean. When the chlorine is finished purifying the pool water, it converts back into salt and the whole cycle repeats.

Easy, economical and automatic – simply set the chlorine levels and AquaPure takes care of the details. You'll have more time to enjoy your pool and spa with AquaPure! AquaPure and PureLink are the only salt chlorine generation systems that communicate with wired and wireless AquaLink RS Controls.

Is the salt included with the salt chlorine generator?

No, salt is not included.  You would purchase the salt locally and the quantity will depend upon the number of gallons of water in your pool.  Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The preferred salt is evaporated, granulated, food quality, and NON-iodized.  Avoid using salt with anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide, also known as yellow YPS (prussiate of soda). These cause some discoloration of fittings and pool surface finishes. DO NOT use calcium chloride.

Do you offer the cell by itself without the sensor and cable? I recently replaced the sensor so I don't need that. Also, is there a way to test the cell to determine if it is bad? The last several water tests that were done show that the chlorine level is way too low. The salinity has been kept in range and I adjusted the chlorine production rate up to 100%. We've even shocked with liquid chlorine regularly but our water tests from the local pool store continue to indicate low chlorine levels.

Hi Rusty, The AquaPure Cell is only sold as a kit. There is no way to test the cell directly other than the ability to confirm that you're getting and holding a chlorine in your pool.

I have an aquapure700 salt/chlorine system. The salinity indicator on the control unit reads 0.0 for salt content. I have added 160 lbs of pool salt and have had the water tested. Based on the water sample test, it should be reading about 3.0. Why is the control system not showing any salt.

Hi Tim, The problem could be the Tri-Sensor or the control panel, it's  hard to say which one.

Cell not working

Written on 8/12/2019 by Guest

I was getting an error 125 and 194. Cleaned the cell and the codes continued. Ordered this cell due to the price and new style flow sensor included. Easily replaced the cell, o-rings, power cord, and flow sensor. The cell was easy to replace by unscrewing the unions and matching the flow direction of the plumbing. Easy repair that saved hundreds of dollars.
