Can you use this product to stop a leak in a vinyl liner pool?
Reply
This product will stop a pin hole leak in a vinyl liner pool if the leak is at the floor of the pool. The chemical is heavier than water so it will sink to the bottom.

How do I use Fix a Leak?
Reply
Depending on the type of leak you are looking to repair, there are certain steps you must take before and after using the product. If you are using Fix-A-Leak to seal a pinhole leak in a pool liner you will want to set your filter vale to recirculate. If you don't have a filter valve on your filter then you can remove the filter element from the filter. Once this has been done you can slowly pour the product through the skimmer. The product has very simple instructions on the container. If you want to see Fix-A-Leak in action, feel free to check out this > >video.

My husband has been trying to find the source of a leak in my hot tub for over a year. He removed all of the insulation and reinstalled every jet, sealing each with silicone and the tub still leaked.
I found Fix A Leak on the internet by doing a search. I ordered it right away and when the bottle was delivered my husband followed the directions on the Fix A Leak bottle and the leak was finally stopped. After running the solution through the system for two days he reinstalled the filter and he kept taking the filter out and rinsing it just clearing out any excess Fix A Leak.
Now my hot tub is fixed and I am a happy camper!

This product is about as straight forward as they get. Put it in the line that has a problem. I actually poured this into a funnel at the fountain head and let gravity do its thing. Let it sit overnight and voila leak gone!

Discovered I had a leak in a return pipe under-ground, REALLY did not want to dig it up and repair. I read about Fix-A-Leak on INYOPOOLS website and decided to give it a try. I ordered 1 quart of Marlig Fix a Leak, arrived two days later, followed the directions on the website (instructions on product were unclear), it's been two weeks and no more leaks! Works perfectly!!!!

Followed the product instrutions and it worked just as stated. I had a pool leak, which I believed to be within the pool jet system. I added fix a leak and once I added water the leak was no longer evident. Great stuff.

I did not expect much when I ordered fix a leak. I have a 16 by 32 above ground pool that I put in a new liner last year. This year I was losing 2 inches a day and no pool place had answer. I used one bottle and 4 days later if the leak is not totally stopped it has slowed to being insignificant. Thanks for your help.

I can't believe it worked! How can a quart of liquid for $40 fix my leak when I have paid over $300 in the last 3 years to fix leaks in the same pool. I rated 4 instead of 5 only because I don't if it will last but after applying my leak stopped in 24 hours!

We had a hot tub that dropped water level daily but didn't know where it was leaking. I used half a quart and ran it for a few days. The water level drop was greatly reduced and a constant wet floor around the pump was suddenly dry. It actually sealed the small leaks in PVC joints and the top of the pump. Now I don't have to rebuild the pump. I would try this first before anything else.

This product appears to have fixed 95% of the leak in our swimming pool. The leak was not visual and appeared to be in the wall panel fitting at return. A leak detector inform me where the leak was. At that point, I applied fix-a-leak. Upon his return, to recheck the leak it was undetectable, I was very happy !!! He said this product keeps him from making more money, and he does not tell his customers about fix-a-leak !

(3 out of 5 stars) Not for suction line leaks
Reviewed By: Robert C. from Wayne, NJ ()
Pros: Does work
Cons: Not for suction line
Used the product to seal a suction line leak. It didn’t last very long. Most likely because there was No way to force the liquid into the crack in the PVC. I would use on a supply side leak.

(5 out of 5 stars) Some snake oils work
Reviewed By: willib from St. Paul, MN ()
Pros: much cheaper than alternative
Cons: skeptical it will last
Yes, this seemed like snake oil to me too. I was facing a $1000 repair under concrete, or a gamble with two quarts of this stuff. My spa also had a little leak around the skimmer basket too, so I added a little to the spa and the rest of two quarts to my pool and followed the instructions. Much to my amazement it appears to have worked! I was losing 1.5 inches with pumps on in 24 hours, 24 hours after adding this, I was losing none. I'm now letting it "sit" to cure but time will tell how long this stuff will hold up. So far I have no regrets. The spa also stopped leaking too!

Pros: Easy to use, Cheap compared to Experts with gadgets
Cons: none really
Much cheaper than the 350.00 or 400.00 to find the leak before you take any corrective action. Easy to use. Not sure if leak stopped in my case, but definitely slowed it down. Not really sure if the water lose is just evaporation or not. Guess I have to do the bucket test again. Will try again though if it is still leaking
