Reply
This product will stop a pin hole leak in a vinyl liner pool if the leak is at the floor of the pool. The chemical is heavier than water so it will sink to the bottom.

How do I use Fix a Leak?
Reply
Depending on the type of leak you are looking to repair, there are certain steps you must take before and after using the product. If you are using Fix-A-Leak to seal a pinhole leak in a pool liner you will want to set your filter vale to recirculate. If you don't have a filter valve on your filter then you can remove the filter element from the filter. Once this has been done you can slowly pour the product through the skimmer. The product has very simple instructions on the container. If you want to see Fix-A-Leak in action, feel free to check out this > >video.

My husband has been trying to find the source of a leak in my hot tub for over a year. He removed all of the insulation and reinstalled every jet, sealing each with silicone and the tub still leaked.
I found Fix A Leak on the internet by doing a search. I ordered it right away and when the bottle was delivered my husband followed the directions on the Fix A Leak bottle and the leak was finally stopped. After running the solution through the system for two days he reinstalled the filter and he kept taking the filter out and rinsing it just clearing out any excess Fix A Leak.
Now my hot tub is fixed and I am a happy camper!

This product is about as straight forward as they get. Put it in the line that has a problem. I actually poured this into a funnel at the fountain head and let gravity do its thing. Let it sit overnight and voila leak gone!

Discovered I had a leak in a return pipe under-ground, REALLY did not want to dig it up and repair. I read about Fix-A-Leak on INYOPOOLS website and decided to give it a try. I ordered 1 quart of Marlig Fix a Leak, arrived two days later, followed the directions on the website (instructions on product were unclear), it's been two weeks and no more leaks! Works perfectly!!!!

Reviewed By: Moluvslife from Key West, FL ()
Pros: All leaks stopped
Cons: none
After two months of turning my foreclosure house "swamp" back into a swimming pool (inground fiberglass, 35' x 12'), I discovered that the pool was leaking profusely (6 - 12 inches/day). I did all of the normal leak fixes (epoxy'ed light niche and small cracks on the bottom) and slowed the leak - only to determine the remaining leaks were in the pipes. Then I found "Fix A Leak". Three days after ordering, I put 2 quarts into the skimmer and let my system run for two full days (with filter pulled). Within 24 hrs. all leaks were stopped, so I filled the pool to the top...24 hrs. more and still no leaks. As directed, I then turned off the pump for 48 hrs. to allow the solution to cure. Two weeks have passed and I literally have no more leaks. My only problem now is that I keep having to drain the pool after a heavy rain! For less than $80 I solved a problem that would have cost me thousands. This stuff truly is a miracle!!!

Pros: Seems to work
Cons: unclear instructions
I have just completed applying the Marlig Fix A Leak, and it seems to have significantly slowed the leak. I will fully evaluate the product after this weekend when I can accurately determine its effectiveness. The instructions are missing some detail: How long do you continue to circulate the water after applying?, after repl;acing the filter (DE), when should it be back-washed> (my pressure went up 50% overnight); I have a hairline crack in the plaster not leaking, can I use this to cover that crack> I will probably order a seconf bottle next week.

I really had my doubts but trying the stop leak instead of gutting all the foam insulation and trying to find any small leaks created by moving the hot tub seemed like the best idea. After a few hours the leaks actually did stop and we were both amazed. We only used 12 ounces as directed and still have 20 ounces left over just in case.

Reviewed By: Mark S. from Hamel, IL ()
Pros: Easy to use
Cons: Did not work.
I will said that I would not recommend this product because it did not work for me. I am however going to give it another try. I think the direction are too vague to be useful. It does not give you specific enough instruction on when to shut down and let it set. It confuses the hot tub and the pool instructions. I would like to give it another try and then discuss it again if given the opportunity. Someone needs to research this and maybe be a bit more specific in the instructions.

Reviewed By: Kimberly M. from Lexington, NC ()
Pros: it really works
Cons: I don't have any cons of this product
We have an above ground pool and when i opened it up this year we had leaks in it. so i tried to patch the holes with a patch kit as good as i could. I patched what I could find, but the pool kept on leaking, so I drained the pool and got in and found two more little holes. I filled the pool back up with water. I noticed that we still had leaks. I was getting so frustrated and I told my husband that i was just going to take down the pool and not worry about it anymore. He found this product and I ordered it. I said we will see if it works or not. When it came I went ahead an filled the pool all the way up and added it to the pool like it said to do. I am very happy with the outcome of this product. It sealed every hole that was in my pool that I wasn't able to find and our pool no longer leaks.

I had a leak in one of the return lines to my pool .The lines were under cement so impossible to get at without tearing out the cement in places .IN order to circulate the leak fix through the lines I connected hoses from the returns to the skimmer and poured half the mixture in the skimmer and ran the pool for 4 hours ,then turned it off and let sit for 48 hours .After this there was still very small leakage .I had to go away for several days ,so , I plugged both returns and filled the hoses to the top with water .When it had dropped sufficient I poured some fix a leak in the hose and left it .I assumed the fix a leak would follow to drop in water to the leak and plug it .This is exactly what happened and we can now enjoy our pool again .A remarkable product that worked as promised .
