how and were do you install this sensor?

Alan, This diagram shows where this temperature sensor [6234-79, key #9] is installed on an older Raypak RP2100 R185A-R405A Heaters (11/01/93-11/01/98). On all heater repairs we recommend that you have a qualified heater repairman fix your heater.

High I was told I need to replace the sensor on my pool heater thermostat, with a two wire one. I have a raypak pool heater serial number 9908069098 and model number p-r1854-ep. Can you help

Hi, Mary. This Temperature Sensor - 006701F is the correct one for the P-R185A-EP unit.

Thank you for confirming that for me, also is there a white adapter piece that goes with it? Not sure if I needed to replace this also? And do you have diagram to install it

Hi, Mary. The Sensor Adapter - 006714F is not included. Inspect your old one to be sure it doesn't need to be replaced. A wiring diagram is located inside the unit, I don't have one available.
