PureLine Upper Handle Assembly for Hayward SP0714T Valve
This is the upper handle assembly by PureLine for the Hayward SP0714T Valve. Normally when you start to see leaking from your backwash port or you handle becomes hard to press down then it is a good time to replace your handle assembly. This is an after-market part and not the O.E.M original by Hayward.

The valve handle on my SP0714T broke in the assembly valve. Do I need to replace the entire SP0714T or just replace the key cover and handle assembly part SPx0714ba? Are other parts needed to replace this part?
Reply
You do not need to replace the entire assembly valve to replace the handle. You can either take apart the top valve assembly and replace the handle or replace the top valve assembly as you have suggested. More commonly people replace the entire top for it is easier and also replaces the small parts inside of the top vave assembly.

I need to purchase a new key cover for my sand filter. I found the number inside of the key cover asd SP0714A. I find no item matching that number. Please provide information if this number has changed.

1. I purchased a Key, Cover and Handle Assembly (PL0734) from INYO pools.
2. I watched the video of how to replace the KCHA and took notes.
3. After receiving the new handle assembly I removed the defective one from the sand filter.
4. I replaced the defective one and replaced it with the new one from INYO pools.
5. I tested it and there was no longer a leak.
6. I celebrated because it was so easy to do!

First took off old assembly by removing the 5 screws. Spread Teflon lubricant on gaskets and O ring. Replaced the old assembly with the new assembly by lining up the tab. Replaced the 5 screws. Project completed successfully.

First turn off pump. Turn off water valves to pool or install winter plugs to keep pool from draining. Remove Philips screws from around the valve and pull straight up on the valve. To install reverse instructions put some lubricant on all rubber O-RINGS to make installation easier.

Remove screws pry out valve handle assembly. Be sure and use the lubricant I purchased with the valve as the gasket is already glued in. A thirty-minute job with no frustration and cost-effective to Heyward part. Thanks for a good product

EASIEST POOL FILTER REPAIR I'VE EVER MADE. BOT THE KEY, COVER & HANDLE ASSEMBLY #SPX0714BA AND "O" RING #5000-4053. USING A LG PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER I REMOVED THE EXISTING 6 SCREWS ON THE TOP OF THE ASSEMBLY, LIFTED OUT THE ENTIRE LEAKING ASSEMBLY, PUT THE NEW O RING ON AND THEN REPLACED THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY WITH THE NEW ONE, REPLACING THE SAME SCREWS. RESULT - NO MORE LEAKING WATER FROM THE DRAIN.

I had went to the local pool store to get the parts needed to fix my pump. However, when I purchased them I paid more and got less. I found this website and ordered my hole kit that I needed for less than what I had just paid. Shipping was on time, actually a day early. I took the old part off and out the new one on, and the pool pump has worked wonderful ever since. I will be ordering from this company again. Thanks for the speedy shipment and great pricing.

Ordered the part from into pools and when I got it there were six screw on top that pulled it out of the valve body, of course you shut the pump off to do the repair, greased up a new. O ring seal and the spider seal stuck it back in and turned the pump on. 10 minutes total time from shut off to start up.

Pros: very easy to install - took 5 minutes
Cons: none
I was having problems with my Haywood sand filter leaking water through the backwash hose while in filter. I spoke to a very helpful customer service man and he told me exactly what to get and even how to install it. It was so simple to install just like the man said it would be and it works great! Not only is the problem fixed, I can read the display again since it is part of the replacement. I did also get the o-ring and pool o-ring lube that was not included to make sure I had a good seal

Easy to install, but it comes with an O-ring so you don't need to buy an extra one (like I did).

Found my valve assembly was leaking water out the backflush/ waste port when in filter position and at an alarming rate. I ran a hose from port back to pool to save the water whilst I looked for a replacement assembly. Found this not name brand one “Purline “ one at a substantially cheaper price than most websites and name brand assemblies and purchased it and received it within a few days. Followed installation instructions and 5 minutes later had the leak fixed and filter back to filtering..great price and assembly easy and smooth to use. Only thing is that the assembly comes with the o ring which is not stated in the description of unit. So no need to buy o- ring separately…other than that very pleased with INYO pools service and products thus far.. will probably order from them again
