I have a Hayward DE filter EC40AC. Is there an O-RING or GASKET needed for the top piece?

This is the only gasket needed to seal the tube sheet/ head to the body of this filter model.

What will cause D.E. To get into the pump filter basket then into the pool?

Hi Gordon, If the Diaphragm Gasket is bad D.E. Powder can get back into the pool and then into the pump strainer basket.

I have a ec40ac filter and the top gasket is bad, it is tan in color with 12 bolts...which gasket will I need? Thanks

The part number for the gasket you'll need is 4820-08.
