Yes, we spoke with the manufacture and they stated that yes this will work on a motor with an external capacitor.

New Intelliflo Variable Speed Pump is being installed. Is there a protective cover for the pump available? I'm looking for something to place over the pump that provides protection from the Las Vegas sun. Chuck

Unfortunately due to the size of the motor and control unit there is not motor cover produced to cover them.

My b2844 just arrived. Thanks for the fast shipment. I figured it is a motor with an open back. The replacement will be outside and raining/moisture is a concern. What should I do to protect it from getting wet?

These motors are okay for outdoor use. As long as no water gets into the electrical or is submerged you are fine. This motor cover will aid in keeping it dry from rain as well.

After replacing the old motor and pump assembly, I wanted to provide some extra protection for the new equipment. This cover seemed like an easy way to cover up the new motor - it snaps on easy and has sufficient venting to keep the motor cool.

No repair, I bought a pump from INYOPOOLS and wanted to make sure it was protected from the elements. This cover has great areas for ventilation so the pump does not overheat and was very easy to assemble and put on the pump. It works great!!!

As I began to assemble the Protective Motor Cover, I realized that the cutouts provided for the wiring to the motor were not going to work for my motor. I measured carefully, and then made a cutout with a hacksaw. worked perfectly on the first try. Now a have a nice ventilated motor cover!

Pros: Simple to install/assemble
Cons: Plastic is thinner than I hoped it would be for the price.
A fairly simple plastic Cover, but it keeps the pump motor out of the sun and all but the most strongly driven rain.
