Hi. You can use either union, however, the Hi-Temp Union - 21063-200 are better.

WOW! I was looking all over here in Langhorne, Pa for this item to fix my pool filter output connection. I was getting now where. Then I remembered INYOPOOL. I went on-line and they had the exact fit. I ordered from the company that was located in Florida. I fiqured it would take about a week to receive the item but much to my surprise I received it in 2 days. GREAT JOB! Thanks.

Pros: Hayward quality
Cons: low profile - need skinny wrench to install
Every season I could expect some leakage between my pump and filter. Finally did that piping over and used this union to attach directly to my Hayward pump outlet. It screwed right on and made the job much simpler. Turned on the pump and FINALLY -- NO LEAKS! Great part.

It works. Threaded connection didn't leak with teflon tape. Union connection also didn't leak.
