I have an above the ground 15 feet round pool, what kind of electric heater do I need?

The Raypak Crosswind 65-I is designed for above-ground pools and would be appropriate for the size of your pool. Anything 60k btu or higher would work well.

Will this work with my 24’ above ground? Also is the estimated delivery time of 3-7 days accurate for delivery to Ohio?

Hi Justin, Yes this would be adequate for a 24' round above-ground pool, if you were looking to add a month onto the spring season and extend another month for pool closing. Yes 3-7 days is accurate for delivery to Ohio

Would this work to heat a 33K inground pool 5-6 degrees in the spring and fall and also cool 5-6 in the hot days of summer. We live outside of dallas and our pool is already 88...

Hello Alisha. The Raypak CrossWind Heat/Cool Pump 65-I is NOT suitable for a 33K gallon inground pool. This RayPak model is designed for above ground pool applications. Inground Heat/Cool units such as the Hayward HeatPro Heat Pump 120K BTU (Heat/Cool) HP32104T or the RayPak Classic Series 137K BTU (Heat/Cool) R8450Tl-E-HC would be more appropriate for a pool with a volume of 33,000 gallons. Classic Series Heat Pump 137,000 BTU (Heat/Cool) - 016037 HeatPro Heat Pump 120,000 BTU (Heat/Cool) - HP31204T

I have a 12 /32 with sun deck so around 8000 would 61 btu heat cool pump work

If the pool is 8,000 gallons, it would not be enough. The minimum BTU size should be 67,000BTU. Raypak Heat Pumps https://www.inyopools.com/productlisting/heat_pumps_raypak.aspx

I have an inground pool that is very shallow and holds about 10,000 gallons. Would this work for a pool of that capacity?
Reply
Hi Richard, you would need at least an 85,000 BTU heater to heat your pool 1 degree per hour, so we would recommend something bigger. Any of the inground heat pumps will be fine for an above-ground pool. See our article on How Long Does It Take to Heat a Pool? for more comprehensive information to be sure you get something that will fit your needs.

(5 out of 5 stars) Wonderful Heater

Love this heat pump. The heat pump showed up on perfect condition. Well palleted and packaged. No damage to the box or unit at all. Install was easy and straight forward. Had my pool up to temperature within 8 hours. The heater was off by the time I got home from work. It takes about an hour in the mornings to get it back to temperature. Then it just maintains at a lower heating capacity, the inverter option is really nice to make it run more efficiently. The unit is really quiet. Can barely hear it, and can’t hear it at all over the pump. I have a 12’ x 24’ x 4’ deep above ground kayak pool and it has no problem keeping the water at a nice 88 degrees.

(5 out of 5 stars) Great Heater/Cooler & Good Price
Reviewed By: Inyo Customer ()
I ordered this Raypak 65-I Heater/Cooler & rec'd it 3 days later in good condition. I wasn't happy about the delivery, as I was told that the delivery company would contact me with a 2 hr. delivery window, instead they sent a text saying what day they would deliver it & a 5 hr. window. The heater was professionally installed on a Friday, along with the other equipment. I turned this heater on on Sat. afternoon pool 77 degrees & it was at the set temperature of 88 degrees by 11:00am Sunday. Granted we had a very hot weekend mid 90's which also helped heat the pool, which gets full sun. My pool is 16 x 32 oval with a 4 foot depth. This unit is extremely quiet so I wasn't sure it was even on & contacted my installer. He stated to watch & see if the fan is turning, since it is a quiet heater/cooler and it was on. It's quieter than my previous heater and my pump & filter! So far I'm very pleased with this unit & it was cheaper than my last heat only unit. I haven't tried the cooler part yet but I'm sure I will if we continue to get hot weather. I just hope this heater/cooler performs well and lasts for many, many years to come.
