Part # GOKIT14
Standard tune up kit for the Jacuzzi Magnum pump includes the shaft seal and all o-rings, gaskets and lubricant.
We highly recommend replacing the shaft seal, o-rings and gaskets when replacing your motor. If you use your old shaft seal, it will not mate up properly with the new motor and may leak.

For More Pool Pump Motors
I recently changed my pool motor and gaskets. I made sure to lubricate all the gaskets with vaseline. A few days later water is leaking from the pump. What did I do wrong? Help please!!
Reply
You never want to use vaseline on any rubber gaskets or o-rings. Vaseline is petroleum based and will deteriorate the rubber quickly. Whenever you change the motor on a pool pump it is recommended that you replace the gaskets and shaft seal as well. A >Go-kit contains the shaft seal, packet of non-petroleum based lubricant and gaskets you will need for your pump. If you already have the gaskets, you can purchase >Magic Lube.

My pump is not priming even after cleaning impeller. Will purchasing this kit aid in fixing that problem?
Reply
The seal kit can help with loss of prime. I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem. The loss of prime could be from an air leak at the valves or plumbing in front of the pump.

Strainer or box of jacuzzi magnum plus has a slight crack, and water spurts out. What glue can be used to plug it?
Reply
We do not recommend trying to repair the crack with any type of glue. We recommend replacing the entire housing. Part number 42234506K (5064-052) is the correct replacement housing.

I have a leak between what I would call the motor and the skimmer basket. It is not the outer plastic ring. I was wondering if this was what I should use to try to fix the leak? Also, how hard should it be to pull the 2 pieces apart?
Reply
That's where I would start at if there isn't anywhere on your pump housing that's leaking water or cracked. If you haven't changed the seals for a while they that would be a great place to start.

Ordered new replacement motor and the pump seal kit. Using the kit supplied seals and gaskets I replaced all parts during the pump motor replacement. This ensured that upon completion I experienced no leaks or problems. The pump has been running for two weeks without incident or leaks.

Replaced pool pump motor and installed new gaskets. The gaskets came in a kit that must be applicable to several different motors and pumps. No instructions to assist in identifying where to place these gaskets nor which gaskets applied to a Magnum Force pump. Some gaskets intended for the diffuser assembly and at least one appeared to require being placed inside the pool pump housing. Very confusing.

Pros: Complete Kit
Cons: It doesn't self install. Don't damage with sharpes when removing.
Unlike other kits available on the popular shopping sites. This one has all of the seals and gaskets covered. Put the unused ones in a tight ziplock for later use if needed. Tip: do not shortcut on o-ring lube for pool parts and components, use the silicone stuff that is for pool parts. It's worth having the extra little bottle, this works on pressure washer components also..Additional Tip: use this on the screen door catches and anywhere around the pool area. I have had experienced stains and discoloration on the white screen room frames from the popular spray lubes.

Pros: Will save you headaches in the future.
Cons: None
If you are going to replace the motor, it only makes sense to replace all of the parts that could go wrong in the future and require pulling the motor all over again. Pump will absolutely run better and more efficiently.

I had to replace the motor and since i have worked as a millwright for 15 years i know to also replace the pump seal& o rings while it is apart...not to mention that it was 10 years old.like someone else mentioned in the review there are no instructions included but it is very straightforward and there are instruction on the website.I used stainless steel bolts and never-siezed the threads on all 4 motor bolts like we do at the plant on reassembly, when i disassembled the old unit one bolt head was rusted badly and i had to use a hacksaw to cut off the head to remove the motor....i was using a 1/2 impact BTW.When reassembling I found i could not pull off the old seal retainer on the impeller shaft so....... the old seal was not leaking and this piece is s.s. steel i just reused it fearing damage to the impleller if i tried to remove it. just make sure you remove the new one from the seal ass'y it will be the very bottom piece.Use the old seal "white ceramic" as a tool to press in the new seal into the housing instead of your fingers... the sealing face is highly polished and the seal will leak if this surface is dirty or damaged. Use plent of lube on the o rings and don't force anything and you will be all right!also don't forget to lube the inside of the pump housing 360deg. when installing the motor/seal ass'y.
