The Polaris Pool Cleaner Sweep Tail Scrubber is the water agitator on the back end of your unit, that has a dual purpose of kicking up debris on the bottom of your pool to make it easier to clean and also the scrub steel wool type material at the end of the tail acts as a scrubber. In this "How To" we will show you how to replace Polaris Sweep Tail Scrubber if yours has become damaged or dysfunctional.

I need to replace the foam ball on the end. Where would I find otReply

The replacement part you need is the Sweep Tail Scrubber - 9-100-3105. For future reference you could find that on the list of Cleaner Part Diagrams but you would need to know which model of cleaner you own.Reply

tom - There is a sweep hose flow adjustment screw that screws into the attachment end of the hose. If you've already tried adjusting this screw, call technical support at Polaris/Zodiac 800-822-7922 for other correction options. They will want to know the model of your Polaris Cleaner. See our guide on “How To Identify Which Polaris Pool Cleaner You Have” if you are unsure of your model identification.Reply

My Polaris tail keeps coming off, despite repeated attempts to secure it. I'm not sure what the original attachment device was, so I asked one of my pool guys, who said they use plastic self-tightening bag ties to secure it. I tried this but it came off almost immediately. Is there a separate clamp I can buy, and if so, do you need to know the serial number, etc., of my unit?Reply

Michael - The recommended sweep hose adjustment is the sweep hose flow adjustment screw. Since you had no success with this adjustment, I would recommend calling technical support at Polaris/Zodiac 800-822-7922. They will want to know the model of your Polaris Cleaner. See our guide on “How To Identify Which Polaris Pool Cleaner You Have” if you are unsure of your model identification.Reply

Would you have any idea why the tail would stop swaying from side to side even after checking for pressure leaks? When I grab the hose out of the water, a strong stream is coming our, but no swaying left to right in the water. I have adjusted the "flow" screw to as loose as possible, to the mid setting and almost as tight as possible and no change. Would loosing the plastic clamp effect this? Please help. Thank you.Reply

Tabitha Nichole - This cleaner has a clamp to hold the end on the Sweep Tail Scrubber on. You may have to replace it if isn't holding the Scrubber on. If you have a different cleaner where the scrubber is screwed on and that won't hold, try wrapping 4-5 layers of plumber's tape around the threads before you screw the scrubber on.Reply

Only the scrubber at the very end came off. It has threads, but they do not screw in, but rather pop in. Every time I put it on it comes right back off. Any info on getting that to stay?Reply
