A functioning Hayward Tiger Shark Pool Cleaner Impeller is key to a well working cleaner. The impeller not only creates the suction for the cleaner but also creates down-force to provide grip to climb walls. If your Tiger Shark Cleaner is having issues in either of these areas you may have a damaged impeller (The cleaner used in this "How To" is a Dirt Devil QC; which has the same design as the Hayward Tiger Shark cleaner.)

My impeller broke into pieces and is gone! I've ordered a replacement impeller. Is it just as simple as putting the new one on? I can't find any how-to videos that apply to this situation. :(Reply

Yes, you just need to screw it into place. There aren't going to be very many videos on this topic because they would be about 15 seconds long.Reply

My impeller will not spin even if try to manually turn it...What’s my issue? Hopefully not motorReply

Hate to break it to you, but it sounds like a motor issue. If the motor is frozen up, then it could be a bad bearing. The Tigershark has a few different styles of motors; you can view the possible replacements here: Hayward / Aqua Vac Tiger Shark Parts DiagramReply

chaskinsnc - Take the impeller off the motor shaft and see if the impeller shaft is broken. If not, the motor has likely failed.Reply

My impeller stopped working so I am not getting any suction and it will not climb the wall. What is the chance the the motor for the impeller is broken? My Tiger shark is 10 years old.Reply

Is the motor expensive?Reply

The TigerShark replacement motor can be found under key 3 on its parts list: Hayward / Aqua Vac Tiger SharkReply
