This is Part II of a two part guide on replacing the bearings in a pool pump motor. The first part, "How To Replace the Bearings in a Pool Pump Motor - Part I" shows you a step by step approach to removing the bearings of your pool pump motor. This second part shows you how to replace the bearings and reassemble the motor. Although this guide is specific to the Hayward Super Pump Motor, many steps are applicable to other brands of motors.

anonymous (bearings) - You do not have to pack the bearings with grease. They do come with sufficient lubrication.Reply

Great write up.Do you repack the grease around the
bearings on the motor? If so what grease
do you use?
The motor is a 2hp AO Smith used in
a northstar Hayward pump.
Thanks

pump leak - It sounds like you have a housing gasket leak or a shaft seal leak. These gaskets are normally changed when you pull out a motor. See our guide on "How To Replace Pool Pump Gaskets" for information on replacing them.Reply
