What is the difference between this and the ULTRA? How long will the cell last? Can I buy replacement cells? Is this as good as one of the more known name brands (Hayward, Pentair)?
Reply
Hi, Stephen. The User Interface Design and the Ultra has a built-in sensor that monitors faults due to low flow, temperature, and calcium build-up. The cell can last 3-5 years based on daily usage. This system is just as good as the popular brands.

Are there replacement cells available when needed down the road? Or do I have to buy another whole system?

Yes, there are replacement cells, at this time we do not offer them. The cell part# for the Power Clean 540 is 52000-240-110

40000 salt systym ok with a 18x36 in ground pool and how much salt to change over to salt deep end by the way 8 ft

Hi, Gary. Yes, this 40K system will be sufficient for your size pool. To determine the amount of salt you will need, you will have to get your water tested. You will never start from a zero salt level.

Will this system work for a 20x40 pool with 10 ft depth in deepest part?

Hi Dawn, Your pool would be at the upper limits of this salt system but it would work. We show your pool is right at 40,000 gallons.

Does this unit use a flow sensor or does it rely on the pool timer for it's shut-off? I also didn't notice a salt level indicator (Good/Add). Is there one not shown or do you need to perform water tests for salt level and/or free chlorine?

The Powerclean Salt Chlorinator has been designed with an internal electronic flow sensing tab. This device automatically switches the power to the electrolytic cell “OFF” when the water through the cell stops. It also relies on the pool timer to shut it off as well. This system does not have a salt level indicator. Salt level should be checked monthly using a Salt Test Strip.

Does this unit have a super chlorinate or boost option with internal timer for the normal 24 hr run time of a super chlorinate after heavy swim traffic.

Hi TJ, Yes this salt system does have a Boost Mode. Per the owner's manual... When in BOOST MODE (with the red BOOST light illuminated) the system will automatically operate for 72 hours of run time, and then reduce to the 100% level. Boost Mode should be used to offset “out of the ordinary” conditions: unusual weather or extremely high bather load.
