Would this be all I would need to convert my above ground pool to a salt water pool? I have the pump and sand filter system with an inline chlorinator now.

Hi Donna yes this would be all you would need to convert your above ground pool to salt except for the salt it self.

Would this be too big for a 1600 gallon baby pool?

Hi, No this would be fine for a 1,600 gallon pool you will just get a much longer life out of the cell then if you were using it on a 10,000-gallon pool.

My pool is about 6,000 gallons. Would a 10,000 gallon system would work for this pool.

What is the difference between a salt generator for an above the ground pool and an in the ground pool. We are building a concrete pool nest to a retaining wall. It is technically above the ground except for the side wall that abuts the retaining wall. thanks.

Mike, the main difference between the above ground PureLine Crystal Pure 3.0 ABG 10,000 Gallons, and the in-ground equivalent Pool Salt System 20,000 Gallons - PL7701 is that the control panels operate a bit differently. The control panel on the Crystal Pure 3.0 ABG 10,000 Gallons will be analog vs digital and only have LED light indicators versus a digital readout on the panel itself.

Thank you for the quick response. So, it sounds like as long as I get a system that is large enough, and has the features I want, I could use either an above the ground or in the ground system, correct?

Mike, Yes, that is correct.

if you switch to salt for an above ground pool, do you still need the sand filter and sand?
Reply
A filter and a salt chlorine generator do two different jobs for keeping a pool clean; one cannot replace the other. You will still need a filter after switching to saltwater.

I have a Sunrunner Sandfilter pump, will this Salt Generator work with it or do I need a completely new pump ?

I've calculated my pool to be 10,800 gallons. Is the 10,000 gal above ground salt conversion kit adequate for my 10,800 gal?

Hi Darla, you will want to use a higher capacity Aquatrol salt system or even use an inground model as well.

Will this for a 11,000 gaillons above ground pool
Reply
Hi Roy, you will want to use a system with a higher capacity. Please see our options that may be a better fit. I would recommend a 20k gallon salt chlorine generator. You can use inground models as well.

Hello, here is a guide that we put together called "How To Convert an Above Ground Pool to Saltwater" that should assist with that.

This is applicable to a in ground pool 6000 gal capacity?

Hi Mizael, this system is designed for an above-ground swimming pool so unfortunately would not work. Here are two guides that we put together called "How to Size a Pool Pump for Your In-Ground Pool" and "How To Size a Pool Filter" that should help.
