Will this be compatible with my 30kgal pool. I currently have an older style pool with one main drain (2") that connects into the skimmer (2") and goes back to the pump and into a DE filter. Since I have two intakes (skimmer/main drain) does this double the intake maximum GPM of 146 or is it still 73 because they both connect into a single 2" line running back to the pump? I've estimated to be running approximately 57.76 head pressure. Please advise on a compatible pump for my pool. Thank you

Hi Ray C., This pump would be compatible with a 30,000 gallon pool using 2" plumbing. For your flow rate you would be limited to the flow rate of the 2" plumbing which is 120 GPM. Physically only 120 GPM's can go through 2" pipe no matter how large the pump. The PL2606 would be a great pump for your application.

Will this plumb directly to a Hayward Ecostar, without changing any connections?

Hi, Kevin. It will not, this Prime pump will need to raise about 1" on the suction side. The plumbing connection are also not the same so yo will have to use the unions that come with the Prime pump.

How do you get the app

Hi, Bill. You can download the app in the Google Play Store or iTunes App Store.

When I install the VLink wireless unit will I lose functionality of local controller? In other words the only way to control the pump is via the smartphone app?
Reply
Hi. The V-Link will take priority over the motor interface. The STOP button will be the only option you use on the motor interface.

I asked this the other day, but the pictures didn't go through. I have a 25,000+ gallon saltwater pool & hot tub. It currently has a 1HP pump. It doesn’t appear to have enough flow. There is 2” pipe underground but it was reduced to 1.5” above for the pump/filter. In the pictures you can see all returns on and just the hot tub on. The filter is a RANGER 25” I believe, with a Preager head rated at 50PSI. Will this pump work? I am having electrical rewired so 115 or 230 is not an issue.
Hi Larry, Yes this should be a great pump for the pump you have described. The variable speed pump will great for your set up, the nice thing is that you will be able to dial the pump into the exact HP you require, normally this will be a low HP for general filtration of your pool but you can really crank up the HP when you want to run your spa jets. You may have some minor replumbing for the plumbing going to your pump, if you can replace your 1.5" plumbing with 2" plumbing then you will get better water flow from the pump and the pump will not work as hard. You should also save a lot of money on your operational costs when you run the pump at the HP for general filtration of your pool.

What are the dimensions of this unit? Would like to see heights/distances etc of piping to see what modifications I may need to do to my existing pipework. I’m currently running a Jandy 2.0hp pro series.

Hi, BS. Use the Dimensional Image to see the specs of this pump.

The PL2606 is Energy Star, is this product Energy Star? Is there freeze protection on this unit? I read that a few people were using Auxiliary power/controls to directly wire their booster pumps on the PL2606. I assume that this model will also let you do that?
Thanks!

Hi, Jordan. Yes, this model is also Energy Star certified and has the auxiliary terminal which can operate another equipment.

Will this work with my rs4 auqulink system? Would I need the new board? Will I be able to control the speeds at the keypad in my house or just on the smart phone? Will my pool guy be able to shut the pump off to service the basket weekly without any interference?
You would only need to use an automation adapter and you can use your current panel controls.
