the header assembly on my exchanger does not look like this one. The part number in my manual for my heater exchanger is "HAXHXA1200" is this the same unit? and will it work in my heater?

I purchased a used Hayward h200 heater. I am experiencing a high copper content in the pool since it was installed. The local pool supply store said it could be coming from the heat exchanger. I believe the heater sat unused for several years. Could the high copper and metal content in the water be caused from the heating element corroding over the years of non use. If so is there any way to solve the problem or do I have to replace the heat exchanger. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hello Alex. The high copper content in your pool water could be the result of the newly installed Hayward H200 heater. To help prevent the dissolved copper from depositing on the pool's surface the use of a sequestering agent, Jacks Magic - The Blue Stuff is recommended. To remove copper from the pool water the use of CuLator Metal Eliminator is recommended. To help prevent any further degradation of the heat exchanger, keep the pool water chemically balanced. Attached please find a Hayward H-Series Diagnostic Manual. Page 53 emphasizes the importance of maintaining proper chemistry balance.
