The Weir is missing on my in-ground vinyl lined pool. The lid to the skimmer has the name Astralpool imprinted on it, and a part # of 05280-0302. Would you know if this Weir might fit that skimmer? If not, would you know which Weir I would need? The opening dimensions are approximately 5 1/2" X 7 3/4". Thank you

what is the purpose of a skimmer and can one live without it?

Hi Stuart, a skimmer is for removing the floating debris from the swimming pool and also is used for manually vacuuming the dirt off of the pool floor. If you have a functioning main drain then you do not necessarily need a skimmer, however, will be much more difficult to maintain the swimming pool.
