No, this is just the volute. The impeller and etc are sold individually.

I need to replace my volute, but it is plumbed with pvc coming up from out of the ground going to both the top and side ports. It doesn't have any hoses or fittings that are shown to attach to this volute. Will this part work for that setup and what pvc connector fittings would I need? I can provide a photo for you to look at.

Hi PMM, This can be plumbed using 3/4" MPT fittings which can be found at your local hardware store.

In side the Volute there is a bushing. Do you need this part .It is not listed in the parts.

I am not sure what bushing you are referring to, are you talking about the shaft seal? If you are not sure, please attach a picture so I know what bushing you are referring to.

Hello Donnis, I would recommend the Volute (p5) and the GOKIT71 Tune Up Kit Polaris Booster Pump as the correct replacement parts for the PB-4.

What is the difference between the old model and new model Polaris booster pumps. When was the change made? I have one i wish to rebuild for a spare, serial # M767229, motor marked 2001. I need a motor and tuneup kit.

A  Answered on 6/11/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

I'm not 100% sure why the change was made but if your motor is marked 2001 then you would need this P5 volute as the new volute is from 2011 forward.

There is a small leak in my black Polaris Booster Pump (casing). I THINK the # on it is M048004 (9 or 8)137. Are there still replacement parts? I don't know how old it is. Thanks!

Hi, Cindy. This Volute - P5 will fit your model Booster Pump. Replacement parts are available on the Polaris Booster Pump - Model PB4-60 parts page.

I have a PB-4 pump with an AO Smith motor. The pump was run without the main pool pump running for about 2-3 hours. It now is screaming. Am I correct that the motor bearings are bad?

Most often this is a sign of the bearings failing but it wouldn't hurt to inspect the parts in the pump and also test it without them to be sure.

I have a cracked volute on my AO Smith Century booster pump. Model is 173840. Diameter of the volute is 8 inches. Will this volute replace that, and do I need to order an o-ring or any other parts to fix the leak?

Hi Lance, For us to suggest the proper seal kit and volute could you send a photo of a wide shot of your complete pool pump to show the pipes going in and out of the pump? To supply this photo simply click the reply link below and upload your photo. Once we get this photo we can make the proper recommendation.

The volute on my Polaris PB-4 booster pump exploded. Can you tell from the attached photos which replacement I need? I think it blew up because of a kink in one of the hoses that jacked the pressure too high. I recently replaced both hoses but all I could find was 24" ones. 24 is too long and it can't be routed without creating a restriction. Is there an 18" or shorter that I can get?
